Glow Sticks - The Coolest Thing Ever

Thanks to Deneal for this fantastic idea...

At Wal-Mart, they sell three packs of glow stick necklaces for 92 cents (at least here in Ames). I give each child one to play with in the tub; we always take baths at night. Then I turn off the bathroom light and turn on the hall light. They are obsessed! They can stay in the tub for an hour, until the water is cold and their hands are completely pruney. Then, you put the glowsticks in the freezer, and you can pull them out for next time and use them again! When your kids thank you for the extra fun in the tub, you can silently thank me. (And Deneal, if you know her.)

We love glow sticks. Tyson like to put them in his mouth and see how fast he can move it back and forth. I am glad all is well with you and your family.

how fun I will have to try that because alyssa and owen absolutely love glow sticks and we always take them with us when we camp so they don't get scared at night in the dark mountains. What a great idea to use them in the bath.

Oh I am so excited that so many people are going to try out this fun little activity. Ashton just loves it. But, I'm a bit jealous too since now we have no bath tubs!! Maybe we'll try it out in the shower and see if it has the same results. Already he spends half an hour in the shower playing with trash--old yogurt cups and plastic cookie trays. Hey we have to be a bit inventive over here!

There are so many comments all the time on your blog that I don't have anything different to comment really, but that is a great idea! I'll try that one--they love the bathtub anyways (those crayons for the tub are awesome as well).
