I Love to See the Temple

Yesterday was the first time since I started this blog that I was too busy to write anything. I didn't even get to see President Hinckley's funeral! Luckily, we have the BYU channel on tv so we recorded it, and I think that will be a great Sunday activity.
The Young Men and Young Women in our ward had a temple baptism trip scheduled yesterday. Since I am in the Young Women presidency, I got to go with the group to help. We met at the church at 5:30 in the morning to make the 2 1/2 hour drive to the Winter Quarters temple. It was a fun experience, hanging out with the great young women on the drive, feeling the spirit in the baptistry, and watching one of my Beehives have her first experience doing baptisms. Our young men and young women are fantastic people. Their faith is so strong (I mean, how many teens would wake up at 5:00 AM on a Saturday to go on a temple trip?) . After the baptisms, we took some pictures and then turned around and drove back home. We didn't get home until about 1:30, which was just about the time President Hinckley's funeral ended.

The Winter Quarters temple

The group (notice how there are almost as many leaders as there are kids)!
Then, to round off the rest of my afternoon and evening, Christian and I worked on our taxes, and then we went on a date last night. What a nice day! And now that it's Sunday morning, I have a lesson to prepare. Tomorrow I'll post something that made me laugh so hard I almost wet my pants!

That is so cool that you were able to go with them. I remember youth temple trips to the winter quarters temple when i was in high school. I loved them. Hey did you see my mom and step dad there? Just kidding. They did make the trip up there yesterday though. It sounds like it was a great experience.

That is so awesome!! Way to go for the Youth!! It reminds me of when I was growing up we had a similar situation. We had to make the 3 hour trip to the Cardston Alberta Canada temple but we always had such a great time and experience adn it looks like you guys did too!!
