Husband Tag

Okay, here's how big of a dork I am. This morning I read on my friend Leslie's blog that she had tagged me. However, I had already written up my answers last night because my friend Desta had this on her blog and I liked it so much I wanted to put it on my blog, even though I hadn't been officially tagged. So thank you Leslie for the "official" tag. Now at least I can look like less of a dork.


1. What is his name? Christian

2. How long have you been married? 10 1/2 years

3. How long did you date? 14 days -- 6 days before his mission, 8 days after (and then 2 1/2 month engagement).

4. How old is he? Same age as me, 29 for the third time

5. Who eats more sweets? Me, by far. Christian has a lot more self restraint than I do.

6. Who said I love you first? He did, on the second date.

7. Who is taller? Him, barely. If he is barefoot and I have my Doc Martens on, I am taller than him.

8. Who can sing better? Christian was the lead actor in a couple of high school plays (including Prince Charming, sigh). He has more talent in this department, but I can hold a tune.

9. Who is smarter? Wow, loaded question. Book smarts, me. Street smarts, Christian. Although, he is graduating with a Ph.D. so that's got to mean something.

10. Who does the laundry? Me. I like it that way.

11. Who pays the bills? Me. I like it that way.

12. Who sleeps on the right side? Christian. He's closer to the door, and therefore the kids. Bless his heart, he gets up with them at night.

13. Who mows the lawn? When we lived with my grandma, Christian. Now, the landscaping people our building hired.

14. Who cooks dinner? For our first five years of marriage, Christian. He worked for an old folks home when he was a teenager, and I didn't know how to cook when we first got married. Now I cook, because I'm hungry by the time he gets home from work!

15. Who drives? Him, whenever possible...I hate driving.

16. Who kissed who first? He kissed me first on our first date. (Kiss, first date. I love you, second date. No wonder we got engaged so quickly.) But I kissed him first when he had been home from his mission for about, oh, five hours.

17. Who asked who out first? He said he had a feeling that we needed to get together and hang out (since we had never done that before, even though we were kind of friends). I agreed. Then we went to a movie, where he held my hand (while I silently hyperventilated). Then we went to the Rock Gardens on USU campus, where he held me and we danced in the rain while he sang a U2 song ("MLK" on The Unforgettable Fire) in my ear and then kissed me. Who wouldn't fall in love?!

18. Who proposed? He did...I said no at first because he hadn't asked my dad permission yet! I still get grief about that one.

19. Who has more siblings? Christian is the oldest of four, I am the oldest of three.

20. Who wears the pants? I would say we both wear pants (or capris, or bermuda shorts) of equal length. If you want to get the joke, read Leslie and Desta's blogs.
