Birthday #2 This Month

Today Aidan is three years old. Three! They grow up so fast! Christian works late tonight, so we had Aidan's birthday party yesterday. For dinner, we had french dip sandwiches (SO GOOD!). I got the recipe off of a friend of a friend's (thanks Marcy!) food blog, called The Daily Bite, and I love it so check it out (here's the link for the website itself). Then for Aidan's birthday cake I made the chocolate cake my mom always made my brother growing up...it was my first cake outside of a 9x13 pan, ever. It had layers and everything. Very ugly, but very yummy (no pictures because of said ugliness). So many links, so little time.

Oh yeah, pertaining to said links: before I go on with Aidan's birthday party/presents, I want to say how blown away I am with Deneal's efforts this week on our new blog. The theme pertains to Earth Day and Arbor Day, and this week you don't even have to have kids in order to participate. If you think green at all, you will be really excited about this post. See if you can think of anything Deneal might have forgotten. Come on, I dare you.

Now that I have completely overloaded your minds with links and other really cool information that I'm really excited about, here's a picture to give you a good laugh.

Ethan had 5 party hats on his head. He looked like a pinata/spaceman.

Every 6 months I take a picture of the boys sitting at my piano, so I can compare the pictures as they grow (I have a picture every six months for each boy since Ethan was six months old.) Here's Aidan's picture:

He's in the cheesy smile stage, and I can't do anything about it!

See if you can figure out the theme for Aidan's birthday this year:

Happy Birthday Aidan. Hope you have a fun and fabulous day. Today is Noah's birthday also, they are only 1 year apart. So fun. I don't think I ever connected that before.

Mmmmm! French Dips? I'm gonna have to try that. I love them. I have a recipe I'll have to post for french dip burgers.

I can't believe Aidan is three. He looks so grown up now. I think I am going to have to try the French Dip---YUM!! And thanks for all the kind comments about my over-prepared blog post. I really need to calm down or I will scare people away with the length of my posts! Yikes. Hope Aidan had a fabulous celebration.
