A Sigh of Relief and a Giant YIPPEE!!!

Well, after 10 years of undergraduate and graduate school, writing and successfully defending a dissertation, flying all across the United States for interviews, and spending endless nights talking and not sleeping, WE FINALLY GOT A JOB!!! Christian said, "Yay, it's my first job!" Ethan was jumping around like crazy, so excited for the future and the possibility of having a dog when we actually move into a house, Aidan was excited because all of the rest of us were excited, and I was just thrilled, proud of my husband, and glad that our job prospect is finally secure. We are really looking forward to this move, this new change, and new beginnings in our family. It's an amazing offer, one we couldn't pass up. We feel really blessed, and I feel really good about it, even though I have never been there.

Oh, did you want to know where we're going?

Christian accepted a job as a Group Coordinator at the Counseling and Psychological Services Center at.....Southern Utah University in Cedar, Utah! Everything about the position is amazing for him, plus it is a 10 month position AND has vacation days. So Christian can get his fill of fishing, hiking, biking, and backpacking (Cedar has a plethora of all of these things), he will take time off to watch the kids so I can play (anyone want to come and play with me?), and we will still have time for family vacations. We're going to be very close to Zions National Park, Bryce Canyon, Cedar Breaks, and all sorts of other cool formations and vacation spots. And, very importantly, there is a Café Rio only 45 minutes away (and a Costa Vida in Cedar, which is a close second to Café Rio). What a trip! It's almost surreal.

In the meantime, we are going to fully enjoy our last 3 1/2 months in Iowa...vacations to church spots and strengthening friendships out here. It's going to go fast!

I will be out there as soon as I can. Maybe we can go on some joint family camping trips? James and I are big on the camping. And then you guys can come up here to do Payson canyon with us. We hear it's pretty nice, but can't tell because it's still covered in snow! Congrats!

Yay - a huge CONGRATS! Good old Cedar City. We always stop there on the way to Zion's, our favorite family vacation spot. We'll be there in Sept, so maybe we'll leave a bit early so we can drop in on you!
I'm really excited for you.
Do enjoy Ames, our hearts still long for that great ward, and good midwestern kindness.
