It all started a few months ago. Christian watched a couple of episodes of NCIS in syndication and liked the show (particularly Abby).He got me hooked, and we started watching NCIS every night after the kids went to bed. You see, this was back when we had DirecTV and could record the marathons that one of those cable channels showed every week. We started watching at some point in season 3, and watched half of the season.
Then I found out that a friend had season 1 on DVD, so I borrowed it and Christian and I watched all 23 episodes in less than a month. Yes, as soon as the kids would go to bed, we would get some ice cream, or some cookies or whatever treat we had in the house and snuggle together on the couch to watch it.
Season one had a character named Kate in it. We were confused because Season 3 (where we started watching the series) had a character named Ziva instead. We quickly fell in love with Kate though, and after we finished watching season one I purchased season two on Amazon.com. Season two came to a shocking end, with Kate coming to her untimely demise. One of us (I'm not saying whether it's me or Christian) had a hard time sleeping that night because of the shocking and sad conclusion of the season.
We saw most of seasons 3 and 4 on tv, thanks to our DVR. Then we moved here, where we have good ol' bunny ears. So I purchased season 5, and in the last 2 weeks we have watched the entire season. That's right, some nights we watched 3 episodes after the kids went to bed. It's all I think about (well, besides blogging). I still don't know how we are going to watch the new episodes, since we don't have DVR and they are on Tuesday nights at 7:00. And we don't want our kids watching it with us (too scary for them).
So now, for all two people who are still reading this post, since if you don't watch NCIS you probably don't care at all, I have a question:
Who do you prefer, Kate or Ziva?
I prefer Kate. She was strong and feminine at the same time.
Christian prefers Abby.

This is one of my dad's favorite shows. One time when we were visiting, my mom said to dad, "hey, isn't your show on tonight? you know, the one with Abby." --- so they like her too... (Actually, I like it too. but my dreaming imagination is TOO active to watch murder shows these days. I have to go to bed with the kids!
I've never seen it. I think dad really likes it though. Maybe I will have to watch it. It's kind of like a book series, better when all of them come out so you don't have to wait for the next one. I wish I had done this with Lost! (show on ABC and its really killing me. every time an episonde ends Rusty says "I hate this show" and then we have to watch next week to see what happens.)
Chris watches this and I catch parts here and there. I too preferred Kate but Abby is pretty cool too. That is fun that you have something to watch together (Chris and I did the same thing with Smallville)
Andrew and I were like that when we first discovered CSI, renting them and staying up all night watching several episodes. Hey, I've heard about this thing called a "VCR" that will record shows onto a "tape" that people who don't have DVR can use to record shows. You can even set it to record at a certain time. =)
Brandon and I love that show. We are faithful watchers and we have the luxury of being able to record or should I say dvr it when it is on and watch it later when the kids are in bed. You guys sound like us we curl of on the couch together with a treat and watch or favorite shows or a movie. I don't know who I like better. I was mad when they killed Kate but
Ziva has grown on me!!! That is too funny that Christian likes Abby. She is quite the character but she keeps the show interesting.
Our VCR eats tapes. Fun, huh? I am asking for a new one for my birthday or Christmas.
Do they show the episodes online? And haven't you been asking for a new VCR for birthday/Christmas since I've known you?
Yes Desta...the problem is that VCRs tend to cost a bit of money, and I don't want it bad enough to ask for it first on my list. It's just far enough down on my list that I don't get it. Maybe one day.

How funny- I just stumbled on to this show as well and just saw Kate's untimely demise a few weeks ago. Haven't met Ziva yet, but I do like Abby!
