When my boys were younger, I would go into The Children's Place (and immediately head to the clearance racks in the back), and I would always notice how 3/4 of the store has gorgeous girl clothing, and boys get the other fourth of the store. But because I never had a girl, I was never interested in even looking at girl things.
Then my friends gave me a baby shower for Kaitlyn, and many great people gave me clothing for her through size 12 months, so I have had no reason to shop the girl clothing racks. Well, last weekend while I was up north I went to... the mall. I haven't been to a mall in at least six months, probably more. While walking through JC Penney I was stopped in my tracks by the cutest dress on the clearance rack, size 24 months. For five bucks, I couldn't NOT purchase it!
NOW I get why there is so much cute baby girl clothing out there. My wallet had better watch out - that is, if I leave my little town and get to a mall again.

It's true. I don't even have a girl, but I want to buy everything for my niece.
That is so true that you can find mountains of cute girl stuff in some places and maybe a shirt or two for boys. However, I do think that boys fashion has come a long way. Especially since I had my first boy almost 11 years ago. Back when he was a baby I could only find crap covered in ducks, trains or trucks.
I completely hear you. I can buy SUPER cute things for B for $5.00 or less (Target!). It's fun. But dangerous:).
I'm the exact same as Kristina. It helps when you have a darling girl that picture in the cute clothes---but even just looking at the clothes themselves is fun:)
It can get to be quite addictive! I have the hardest time moderating myself, especially since I can sort of justify spending too much on Emma because her little sisters will wear the hand-me-downs. =D
This is the exact reason (okay, one of them) that I didn't want to know girl-or-boy before baby came. I knew I would break the bank! Luckily, my mom is a crazy shopper and never misses a good deal on kids clothes. She's supplied 80% of my kids clothes thus far, and with hand me downs from cousins, I can rarely justify buying clothes for them. Rarely- Just don't subscribe to any of the stores websites and they won't be able to tempt you with the word SALE.
I had the worse time not buying clothes for my girls when I was working at Walmart, stocking the infants section! I got to see all of the cute new outfits right as they came in and I spent more money on clothes in those nine months for my kids then I have ever. It was especially hard because Elaina was a little baby at the time. It is getting easier (for me) now that they are bigger but my mom always comes to my house with bags of clothes from garage sales and clearance racks. She is a bit obsessed. lol.
SERIOUSLY.
So dangerous for the wallet.
But so stinkin' cute they're usually worth it. ;o)
You must have matching bows, hats, socks, jewelry... Just wait! With three boys for so long, I forgot that pink existed! Now, we have a pink explosion! LOL
I am completely addicted to girl clothes. It doesn't help that I have two girls to feed the need. And get on mailing lists! Children's Place has great coupons and online exclusive sales!
I would be the same way!! But i have seen some cute tutorials.. about how to make hair ribbons!!
Before we knew I was have two boys, I was overwhelmed by all the cute girl clothes. The only cute thing I can find for the boys are overalls. You're lucky!!
It is dangerous! That's why I avoid Carters, and Children's Place at (most) all costs. I can't get out for under $50, and even that requires great restraint.
Whatever you do, PLEASE do not google CRAZY 8. I warned you..
Sorry Christian.
Wait---all you walked out of there with was ONE dress?!??
I hit the clearance racks at Target, Old Navy, Gymboree and OshKosh yesterday. And I wanted to go to JC Penney but by then the kids were ready to kill me, so we came back home.
PS. I would recommend OshKosh's clearance racks for Kaitlyn's summer wardrobe next year. My sister scored like, 9 outfits for $17 there yesterday!
This is why I can't go shopping. :)
This is also why my mother sends clothes to my girls on an almost weekly basis.
It's a sickness!
Yes even if you are not a girly girl, something about having a little girl just makes you love clothes.
