Karaoke

Last night was a karaoke party for the people Christian works with and their spouses. Yes, there was beer everywhere to get people's mouths flapping. No, Christian and I didn't drink any. Yes, we sang karaoke along with everyone else. Christian had to talk me into it because I really didn't want to. But I sang Shania Twain's "Man! I Feel Like a Woman" because that is one of Christian's favorite songs (have you seen the music video? Then you will know why). Luckily, Christian sang right along with me. And yes, he sang the lyrics "I feel like a woman" unabashedly. Hey, he's in touch with his feminine side. And he did a better job than I did. At least he did better at getting into it. It was pretty hysterical to hear him sing in a very deep, bass voice the words "I feel like a woman."
Here's proof that we were making fools of ourselves...

Then I came home and put the kids to bed (thanks to my Beehive Julia for watching the boys!) while Christian stayed and sang to his heart's content. I was tempted to read a magazine, or watch tv, or blog stalk, but instead I cleaned the stovetop and the oven. I know it's Wednesday and we're not moving until next Monday. But I am not cooking anything else. Tonight is store bought rotisserie chicken, tomorrow is leftovers (whatever is left in the fridge), Friday is Papa John's pizza, Saturday and Sunday are going away parties at friends' houses, and we leave Monday.

Oh, and after 15 minutes of our couch being posted on craigslist we had three e-mails of people telling us they wanted it. A couple of college guys came and picked it up last night, and now our house is really looking empty. Am I keeping busy so I won't have to face the fact that I am leaving friends? Maybe. It's hard to move. Especially when I may never see these people again. Sniff, sniff.
