On Tuesday, the boys asked me to make a fort for them. So I took the couch cushions off of the couch, put some blankets over it and called it good. The boys loved it and played in it for 45 minutes. Then, that evening, Christian told me to go relax for a while because I had had a rough day. When I got home, I learned that the boys had asked Christian to build a fort too. Well, he used every chair in the house, most of the blankets in the house and it took up half of the living room. I guess that's what dads are for!
My fort...

Christian's fort...

Also, Christian took the boys this evening to campus to pick something up at his office, and he also stopped and let the kids play around on campus. Their three favorite places: the base of the water tower,

a cool wall of water,

and, of course, the bike racks.

They have also, like always, said some really cute things lately. As a part of our bedtime ritual for the boys, Christian picks them up off of the floor one at a time and drops them into their beds. Ethan keeps asking Christian to do it higher and higher every night. Last night Christian dropped him, and Ethan said, "Wow, I'm getting old." Christian said, "What?" Ethan said, "Yeah" rubbing his tummy, "I'm getting old." (Apparently he's been hearing that one lately from one of his parents.) Also, today I took the boys to the park and they were running through a couple of big puddles left over from the sprinklers, when Ethan said, "Look Mom! Look at the big paw prints my shoes are making!" I had to explain that boys make foot prints... And yesterday, we were playing hide and seek, and when the boys would find me I would kind of jump out and say "booga booga." So the next time I found Aidan, he said, "bugglebum!!!" He must have thought I was saying bubblegum when I jumped out of my hiding places!

What would boys do without Dad's to make things way more fun for them. Christian sounds like such a good dad. Your boys are so funny with the silly things they say
Dad's always have to make things big. It is because they always wanted a BIG fort when they were too old to make one - kids are dads ways of being young again! I love hearing about your boys!
