I couldn't take another same old meal that I always make every night, so we decided to go to
Hickory Park for dinner last night. Hickory Park is like the
Cafe Rio of Ames...it doesn't matter what time of day you go, there is always a line, and it is thought to be the best restaurant in Ames. They serve a lot of food for a little money. And it was good. Of course, for Aidan, the best part was taking his straw out of his drink and putting it back in the lid over and over again.

The restaurant is HUGE. It has somewhere around 250 seats.

Hungry...(we don't get out much!)
This last picture is of the boys "frowning," but if you look at Aidan he has his tongue sticking out instead of sticking out his lower lip:

YUMMMM! We don't go out to eat much either so I understnd making it a big deal :) So.. those scrapbook pages I made did take me a long time. But it was so fun! My friend and I went to this class and it was 6 hours long! And I did 3 pages so.. that tells you how long it took. ha ha.. I can't believe how fast it went by. I'm addicted now though!
I love the pictures of you all! It makes blogging such a great way to keep up! We don't get out much anymore either. Usually if we eat out, we do take out - it is much easier than fighting with a baby to be quiet. Why all the big frowns?
I wouldn't say it's the BEST restaurant in town, it's just the favorite (there's a long-standing Ames tradition that you have to take first-time visitors there). The best are the ones I just emailed you. Enjoy.
Meanwhile, if it took me 6 hours to do 3 pages of a scrapbook I would only take 3 or 4 pictures a year! ha ha I'm glad someone can enjoy that.
Oh, and Louie says Hickory Park actually seats about 540 (so 1% of Ames' population is there at any given moment, because it's always packed). :)
How fun. I love going out to eat, and especially rio
