The first picture is an awww moment, and the other three are (unintentionally) funny...

My mom, Ethan & Aidan's Nana, came to visit this week for my birthday, and here she is reading Max & Ruby stories to the boys. Awww.

Here are the boys' pizzas from Papa Murphy's celebrating their reading victories. We also had ice cream and made it into a party. This picture is a "thumbs up" from them, or rather an "index finger" up from Aidan!

We drove Nana around a little to show her Ames and Boone, and this picture is of
Seven Oaks, from what I have heard has the best skiing in all of Iowa. We were driving up to it, asking my mom if she could see the ski resort, and she couldn't. We had to point it out to her. I've gone sledding down larger "mountains" than this one! We joked how they don't really need a ski lift, but they have one anyway. We're not trying to knock Seven Oaks, because I'm sure it is fantastic for Iowa, but when you have lived in the foothills of Mount Timpanogos, it really is a little laughable.

And in this picture, the boys are sleeping on our bedroom floor while Nana is here. We're not quite sure what happened, but we like to think that maybe Aidan was missing Ethan in the night and so he started crawling out of his bed toward Ethan's, but then got too tired and had to leave his feet on his own bed. But at least their bodies are touching!

That is really fun! I want to come and see the train - that sounds wayyyy cool! I LOVE to have people come and visit. It is a vacation for me too. Normally we don't do the vacation things - when people are here, we do!
I am still laughing at the ski slope and your boys sleeping so I had to come back and say LOL!!!! (Best skiing in Iowa? - Maybe there is a secret hill there somewhere?)
I served my mission in Iowa and lived in Perry for 7 months, so I have fond memories of Boone and Ames.
We knew the owner of Seven Oaks and he let us go for free one day. I went down the biggest run on an inner tube. While it's not much of a ski hill, it's a pretty wicked sledding hill. Everyone thought I was crazy!
That is sooo funny. I love watching the funny things kids do while they sleep. I have to laugh that Aiden has stickers all over is jamies. That is fun that your mom came out to visit, i hope you had a great time!
That last comment from dg was me. Sorry I logged in with our old blog account. :-)
I've never seen Seven Oaks before (where is it?), but that's hilarious. Someone would have had to point it out to me too.
What is that saying? "Don't make ski slopes out of mole hills"?
Those pictures are too cute!!! I especially like the one with them sleeping on the floor. They sure look like the have fun with each other. Oh and by the way happy birthday!! the cake looks great!! I hope it tasted great as well. that is great your mom was able to come spend time with you.
That picture is too cute. You guys have the cutest kids, hmmm...how about some more?
You're so lucky to have your mom come visit. How fun. And Happy Birthday! Believe it or not, I thought of you on your birthday...because it was written on my calendar (just fyi - that is a very special honor to make it to my calendar!!!) Anyway, my computer was broken on that day, so I didn't say anything then, but I'm saying it now. Happy Birthday!!
