Some Christmas Cheer

I got this forward (thanks Liz) and thought it would be a fun thing to put on the blog:

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper at Christmas, gift bags for every other occasion!
2. Real or Fake Tree? Fake for the last few years, unfortunately. I prefer real.
3. When do you put up the tree? Usually the day after Thanksgiving. Bring on the holidays!
4. When do you take the tree down? Usually around the 1st of the year, maybe the 31st. (New Year’s resolution to have a clean house???)
5. Do you like eggnog? LOVE it, especially the Southern Comfort brand my parents always keep in their fridge.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? Hmmm. My black leather jacket, that I still have, and my porcelain doll.
7. Do you have a nativity scene? A small laminated one with magnets on the back to put on the fridge (thanks to Ruth’s mom Vicki). I wish I had a bigger one.
8. Hardest person to buy for? My parents
9. Easiest person to buy for? Kids. Toys and books!
10. Worst Christmas gift you ever got? Does a bag of uncracked walnuts for our whole family count? (I hate unsalted nuts of any kind)
11. Mail or email Christmas cards? Ummm, what Christmas cards? I have good intentions, but the intentions never turn into anything.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Jim Carrey’s The Grinch. How does he do what he does with his face?
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? In November
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? I can’t remember, honest!
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? My mom’s homemade caramel
16. Colored or clear lights on the tree? Either one, I’m not picky (right now, we have colored. Last year was clear.)
17. Favorite Christmas song? O Holy Night, or O Come O Come Emmanuel
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? Stay home this year. It’ll be a (relatively) quiet one.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Yes. Ethan got really upset that Rudolph wasn’t mentioned in the poem “’Twas the Night Before Christmas”
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? We have a star-like thing on the top of our tree that Christian’s grandma (who died almost 10 years ago) gave us. Awww. Memories.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? One on Christmas Eve, the rest in the morning.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? That Christmas stuff starts coming out in the stores before Halloween!
23. What do you enjoy most about Christmas? Time with family, the children’s excitement.
24. What do you want for Christmas? Time with family; the children to not be sick on Christmas morning.
25. When you think of Christmas, what's the first thing that comes to mind? Music and Christ.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

This is really cool! We are staying home for a very quiet Christmas this year too - hopefully we can hit the beach and relax a bit!

Did Melodie forward this to you? I got it too. My family always opened one present on Christmas eve as well. I like that tradition. Will you email me your address so I can send a Christmas card/birth announcement? I was either sending one or the other but not both. I decided to combine them.

Those were fun to read--we have the same sort of star, not really a star but that's the kind my family always had as well, so carrying on the tradition!
