Well then, don't come over to my house today. You might wonder what side I am on.
The bane of my existence is the floor directly under the kitchen table. I should clarify, the floor directly under where the boys sit under the kitchen table. I would honestly have to sweep 3 times a day for it to stay clean under there. And I don't have the desire or energy to do that! LaDonna, you're a superwoman. I will never sweep my floor that often. I don't even have the energy for once a day. Just don't go too close to the table in bare feet...you'll regret it!
And I love the virtual meltdown that occurs when you ask/tell your children to clean up the mess they just made by dumping the entire contents of the toybox onto the floor. Sometimes I feel like it is easier to do it myself than deal with the whining/complaining/tantruming. But that isn't teaching them anything.
And the bathroom counter/light switch!!! If I ask them to wash their hands by themselves, it's a nightmare waiting to happen. The peanut butter and honey on their hands is transferred to the light switch, and they use the opportunity of washing their hands to fill the sink with bubbles and water and it turns into a bath for their tub toys.
I'm not attaching pictures because you don't want to see them!
Do I have to do everything around here?
Oh yeah, I'm the mom. It's my job to teach my kids to do it themselves.
Just call me a day in advance before coming over to visit.

This one makes me laugh so hard because I feel the same way! under our kitchen table is always a mess.. ALWAYS. I clean it every day but at the end of the day. Whats the point before that? ha ha ha ha ha.. Love ya Erin!
Amen! I thought my kitchen floor would be cleaner once Zoe outgrew the "throwing food off her tray to test the limits of gravity" phase, but alas, it is WORSE. And now it just extends to the living room as she asks for snacks. And the bathroom. I just pray that no one has to use it when people come over and I didn't get around to making it "user friendly." With so much to do, why do I sit here at the computer? Oh yeah, because I want to.
Erin I am with you I do not have the energy to sweep my floor more than once. Gotta to love having kids who get the floor so messy.
Yah, we'd totally be cleaning all day. I admit, I do sweep 3 times a day, but only because I have a feet thing--I hate stepping on stuff on the kitchen floor. But the bathrooms... that's a whole other disgusting thing. Blah. It's never done is it? And we're so spoiled these days with the ease of cleaning supplies!
My kids have my same cleanliness OCD (ok so maybe they have learned it from me). They walk around cleaning up each others toys...which turns into a fight between them and me hiding all toys.
I hear you! It must be something in the air. Have you read Alisha's blog? I am so sick of cleaning too. Our kitchen floor is pointless to mop. I'll sweep it (not every day...or even close) but if I mop, it just gets dirty the next day from Jake's work shoes.
What's the point of mopping the floor when it's snowy outside? Dirt and sand--that's what our kitchen floor is made of right now.
