In the last two days, we have gotten around 8 inches of snow. The high has also been around 10 degrees, and the low -11. Yesterday the snowplows came through, but today they haven't. By the way, the snowplows here in Ames are fascinating...they do have regular, run-of-the-mill snowplows, but last week when it snowed we heard a noise outside, went to the window, and it was a tractor with a plow attached pushing the snow off of the roads. And these are what they use in our parking lot:

Anyway, I digress. So today they haven't plowed the roads, none of the ones I drive on anyway, and I had to take Ethan to preschool and go to Wal-Mart. What excitement! I was never quite sure if I would actually stop at a stop sign or not. And then starting up again was just as questionable. One time my tires spun for 5 or 6 seconds, until I had to stop because a car was coming. And I have front wheel drive! Christian even said in his 4 wheel drive vehicle his wheels were spinning yesterday. The (very) good news is that people here are very cautious, and I have never worried about someone running into me because they keep at least a 6 second gap behind me (like they teach you in Driver's Ed).
These are more pictures Ethan took with his camera yesterday.
Me and Aidan. Cute picture, Ethan!

The snowpiles in our back parking lot. Pretty deep!
Getting in the car. Look at how deep the snow is on Aidan, and they never plowed it!

BRRR!!! Just last night I told Dillon I wish we could move all these LDS people with us to California and somehow lower the cost of living there. I would love to just have nice weather all year round! I told him I felt like our whole neighborhood is hibernating right now. It's so boring!!!
how do you even make it out of your parking lot? We have been pounded with snow here as well. I mean it isn't quite as cold but we probably have 6-7 inches on the ground and it has been 20 degrees but thankgoodness they plow here. We are suppose to get more snow tomorrow!! Uggh!!
Yes, among the conveniences of living in Utah again: they actually plow EVERY time it snows.
Ah, Ames and its silly plowing philosophies.
You are so brave to go outside in that. James has been using our car because his isn't working and secretly I am really happy because then I'm not tempted to go out in our weather. And like Jessie (Romney) said, we are getting hit pretty hard here. Harder than I've ever seen. So much for global warming.
I love that Ethan has as camera. That is so fun.
What's that white stuff? Snow? What's that? Haha...we have been FREEZING here too...in the 50's! Maybe you should move to Texas!
Hey Parker has that same camers and we have found he has quite the eye as well. I should post some of his pics, huh? We are having very similar weather in our neck of the woods!!!Oh, the Portland Temple picture is from Deseret Book. I bought it online and they had other temples, too. I can't remember if they had Hawaii or not. Good Luck!
