Last night we had one of the funnest Young Women activities ever. The girls were gushing about it. It was a combined activity, with all of the girls (all nine of them). The Beehives were in charge...I am the one who came up with this brilliant idea. We talked about being married, and what a sweet memory I have (along with all others who were married in the temple) of my wedding day, and what a special day it was, and how it felt to be in the temple with the person I love so that we could be sealed together forever. Then, I plopped a 12 pack of toilet paper on the table in front of the girls and told them the rules: we had 20 minutes to make beautiful wedding dresses out of toilet paper. The Laurels would dress their leader, the MiaMaids would dress their leader, and the Beehives would dress me. The girls themselves chose to have us leaders blindfolded so we couldn't see what was going on until afterward. They talked, and laughed a ton, and worked together in teams to make the prettiest toilet paper dresses they could. They loved it, and it was really fun for us as leaders to watch them enjoy each other's company so much.

Mad dash to catch it!
Ethan and Aidan had to come with me, since Christian is out of town. They brought toys, and ate cookies, while I was blindfolded. They were so well behaved! I love my kids. And Ethan was so excited by the idea of dressing up in toilet paper that he insisted on me dressing him and Aidan in toilet paper too. We had so much fun this morning, making toilet paper clothing, Ethan adding stickers to his, and Aidan destroying his afterward.

If you do this with your kids, be prepared for the aftermath:

What fun you are! Looked like a wonderful activity for the girls and for your kids as well. Did your kids get to help clean up the mess or were you stuck with it?
How fun! We did a similar thing in Activity Days where they had to come up with modest clothes and use newspaper. Looks great!
I'll tell you what, that boy goes through stickers like nobody's business!
Love it! Great pictures - you can totally sense the silly excitement in the air.
Isn't it nice having well-behaved children? Mine have been extra good lately too, and it makes my heart happy.
(I meant to add this above) - My grandma tells me: "You're children are as happy as you are", and I think that's largely true. You and Christian are such positive, happy people, and you have happy, well-adjusted kids! And smart...let's not forget that.
You're never too young to learn the pleasures of wedding shower games!
I love those pictures. I defnitely love the messes!
