Ethan gave his first talk in Primary today. We were so proud! (Tear.) His topic was "Jesus Christ is my Savior." He wasn't nervous or shy at all. He helped me come up with things to talk about, and he only practiced reading it through one time before he gave his talk. And he read the whole thing and only needed help with two words! Here is his talk:
Hi. My name is Ethan. I have lots of nicknames and things people call me. My parents call me Buddy or Bud sometimes. My mom calls me sweet boy. And I am a brother, a child, a grandchild, and a student. Jesus Christ has many names too. The Lord, the Messiah, the Redeemer, Jehovah, and the Savior. The word Savior means he saved us from death. That means I can be with my family together forever. I want to be with my family together forever, and so I am thankful to Jesus Christ my Savior.
One of my favorite songs right now is “If the Savior Stood Beside Me.” I sit in my living room, holding the paper and sing the song. My favorite part is the end, where the music goes higher and the words say “watching over me.” I like this song so much because I can feel the spirit when I sing it.
There is a scripture in the Doctrine and Covenants section 43 verse 34. It says, “Hearken ye to these words. Behold, I am Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. Treasure these things up in your hearts…” Treasure means love and to be very happy. I am very happy that Jesus Christ is my Savior. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Don't you love how the Primary kids can be so simple, and you can still feel the spirit? Christian and I were both there, and we loved all 2 1/2 minutes of it!
