Pre-Birthday Jitters

We started a birthday chain for Ethan over a month ago. Each day, he rips off a piece of chain, and then counts all of the pieces of chain left to know how many days until his birthday. Well, actually his birthday party. Friday is his birthday, but we will be in Nauvoo, so tomorrow is his birthday party.

So tonight, when he had been in bed for 20 or 30 minutes, he came out and said to Christian, "I can't sleep. I have tried to pretend sleep two different times, and usually when I pretend sleep I for real sleep, but this time I can't real sleep!" Christian said, "Are you excited about tomorrow?" He said, "Yes, and I can't sleep." Christian said, "Why don't you think about something happy, like riding your bike or rainbows?" Ethan said, "...or opening presents" with a sly grin on his face. He went back in his bedroom and went to sleep!
