The kids played on the playground at first...it was like watching ants on an anthill -- there were so many kids running around nonstop. Corinne and Ethan

Next, we all ate lunch. The kids were actually relatively quiet during lunch! They must have been hungry. The three kids closest to the camera are Shrey, Ethan and Jin-Ho (in the yellow jacket. Remember him for a story in just a minute).
After lunch, we went on a nature walk. Each child had a partner and they had to hold hands the whole time so they would stay on the trail...there was poison ivy just off of the trail on either side! Ethan's in the black jacket; his partner is Shawn. Then we went back to the preschool, they got their nametag/handprint from off of the wall, sang the goodbye song, and we left. I asked Ethan if he wanted to hug anyone before he left. He seemed a little confused, but he hugged the teachers. Then, when we were getting in the car I said, "Today is your very last day of preschool. Now you will be in kindergarten." And then realization set in. He said, "You mean I will never see Jin-Ho again?" And he burst into tears. Then he got more upset when he thought about never going back to preschool again, and he wanted to know if we could call them from Utah. I told him we could send them a postcard of our new area. He was so sad to be leaving preschool. It broke my heart! I never thought I would be a sappy mom about "silly" things like preschool graduation, but there is a tender place in my heart for my tenderhearted oldest, and I just want to make him happy. Goodbye Treetop Preschool!

Francis, Ethan and Do Do
Playing on the floor...both boys did this with Do Do for three full hours. (Yes, they fell straight asleep at bedtime.)
Last night before bed, Ethan said, "This was my best day ever!" I said, "Oh yeah? How come?" And he said, "Because I had two picnics!" That was really sweet to hear. And now I know the formula of the best day ever!

I can't help but say: Ah, I miss those parks! And all the free food in Ames, it abounds. Picnic after picnic.
My oldest is tender-hearted too, and you feel like you need to be extra careful and sweet to them, don't you? Milo can roll with a lot more punches.
Congrats to Ethan. He'll be such a good little Kindergartener.
You think you're a sappy mom about leaving preschool, wait until his first day of kindergarten! I never thought I would cry or be one of those sappy moms, but I did cry, for a lot of the first day! It is so hard to see them grow up!
Man, I just think of Carson starting preschool and get teary-eyed! Maybe it's because I'm pregnant? Probably not:). Looks like a great day!
It is so funny to see you all wearing jackets outside - But it sure sounds like you are having a lot of fun - when is your big move??
