there's a lighthouse. Right next to a bank and just down the street from the Super Wal-Mart. We have yet to figure out why there would be a lighthouse just off of the freeway, far away from any bodies of water.But I'm not complaining because the lighthouse is what sparked Aidan's excitement to use the toilet.
Oh, and by the way, we have gone up to the lighthouse and found out that the door is locked with a giant bike-lock type thing. But you can see chairs through a window, and the top looks hollow. I wonder who we can contact for a tour?

Interesting. I looked it up online and didn't learn much, other than it is the largest landlocked lighthouse.
When I moved down there, I laughed at the lighthouse too. ha ha! I thought "umm.. ok.. random..."
Wow, we have the largest landlocked lighthouse?! Our town rocks! The point of it is as a mascot for the whole shopping area out there, which they named the "providence center."

So the mayor even wrote a show that "explains" why we have a lighthouse in Cedar City. It is one of our many festivals. It's called the "Himmelsk Saga Festival"
However, everyone I know who has been to see it HATED it. So, perhaps I'll never know the reason behind it (other than as a mascot for the shopping area, of course.)
