I am having a bit of a hard time coming up with dinner ideas these days. Nothing sounds good, and I don't have the energy to even put together a menu. I think part of it's the heat, a little bit of depression (missing friends in Iowa), the fact that I'm still trying to figure out where things are in my kitchen, and the fact that I still haven't cleaned my blasted oven since we moved in, and it's pretty disgusting and therefore I haven't wanted to use it (I'll get to it, I promise). What is your go-to meal these days? What one or two things do you always make, because they are easy and you have most all of the ingredients? Or what is to-die-for yummy and not too difficult to make?
Please either leave a comment with a recipe, or a link, or just easy suggestions. My hungry family thanks you!

Our easy go-to is definitely pasta - some kind of twisty shape, with red-sauce and cottage cheese and mozzarella thrown in. We have that a lot when we're stressed and busy.
Grilled cheese can be made with mozzarella and dipped in red-sauce - tastes like mozzarella sticks! Hmmm, also there's German pancakes (just a bunch of eggs and a little milk, flour and vanilla). It does take a good 25ish minutes in the oven, but is super easy and cheap.
Let's see, eggs and hash browns is another easy one.
We also do lentils and rice quite a bit. If you think your kids would eat that (Milo does, Calvin doesn't), email me and I'll email you the recipe.
Good luck. I have a hard time deciding what to make for dinner as well. It's the worst part.
I don't know why I am commenting, you already know all of my recipes, but too bad. We make chicken enchilada's a lot. (Why am I saying "we" when we both know its me?) I also make poppyseed chicken, chicken alfredo, tacos, chimi's (I don't think you have that recipe), meatloaf, and when all else fails french toast. You can never go wrong with breakfast for dinner.
This one is easy if you have tomatoes ready and some fresh basil (can use dried)--I do in the garden, but I realize you just moved. Any neighbors with some? Anyways, just cute up some tomatoes into cubes (about 5-6), mix in a tsp. of chopped fresh basil, some oregano, salt, garlic, pepper, 1/2 lb. cubed mozzeralla cheese, 1/3 c. olive oil. Cook some angel hair pasta and toss together. Quick and pretty healthy! It's my sisters recipe and I might be posting it on the food website anyways:).
Our go to make every one happy meals are always BREAKFAST meals. The whole family LOVES it and is very happy (some faves include swedish pancakes and dutch babies)
I am also a breakfast for dinner person because we always have WAY too many eggs since we are on WIC. We also like tacos. One thing that makes my life easier are those pre made dinner places. I use Dinners Done Right but there are a ton of them out there. You just sign up and make 12 meals ahead of time and they are in the freezer ready to go when you are. Plus you always know how much you are going to spend. That is a bonus.
We have french dip sandwiches a lot. They are best when you toast them in the oven but if you aren't using that yet....they are good without it too.
We also have mozzerella and tomato sandwiches.
Nothing too exciting.....but they are quick and easy!
i hate finding new dinner ideas. I will email you a few that my sister has made and they are pretty tasty

I refuse to believe that any "INMAN" is capable of starving their family. It is in your jeans to be able to cook like a pro..
One that we have been liking is chicken. I always resort to chicken when I don't know what to do. This is new and we have liked.
Parmesan Chicken
Labels: Chicken
2 Cups crushed Ritz cracker crumbs
3 Tbsp. Parmesan Cheese (I probably used 1/4 C shredded)
2 tsp. Garlic Salt
1 tsp Season Salt
1 C Sour Cream
6-8 Chicken Breast
Wash and dry chicken breasts. Mix first four ingredients together. In a separate bowl add your sour cream. Coat each piece of chicken with Sour Cream. Then coat in ritz mixture. Arrange in buttered 9 X 13 baking dish. Drizzle with butter if desired. Bake at 350 Deg for 45 minutes.
This recipe is so YUMMY.. and easy! It wasnt as good (but still good) the 2nd day as left overs. I didnt drizzle mine with butter, Maybe next time. I also cut my chicken breast down into bite size pieces.
When I don't know what to make it's breakfast too! But one that is always on my dinner rotation is ham and cheese crepes and g-ma inmans beef stroganaff.
I am posting the recipes on my blog tomorrow! watch for them :)
sloppy joes! so easy! so quick! we also make chicken fajitas a lot as a "go-to" meal.
My go to meal is Wendy's or Domino's!
One of our personal favorites is tuna fish mixed with even more than you can imagine....be sure to include lots of garlic, onions, mustard, and all other strong-smelling foods you happen to have in your frig. The best part is that you don't need an oven! Maybe Christian will go for it. Oh, wait, that's right....Christian invented it, so I'm sure he'll just love it! :-)
