Today is my sister Brooke's birthday. She isn't 30 yet, lucky duck. Stop by her blog and wish her a happy birthday. She lives in the middle of nowhere. She needs some adult correspondence.
Brookie, remember when...
- you bit the toes off of my Barbie and I was SO MAD?
- we shared a bedroom because I had nightmares and was too scared to sleep alone?
- we would play with our cabbage patch dolls for hours?
- I would write about how dumb you were in my journal? And then you would read it? (Here's one journal entry from Dec. 12, 1987 [age 11] "Brooke stupidhead just used and wasted some of my tape. Brooke just read part of this journal and she is going to be dead meat!!!!! I'm not letting her get away with it!!!!! I just wrote to my aunt Dawn. Brooke is a retardhead.")
- we fought like cats and dogs until we were both old enough to discover boys, and then we became best friends?
- you took pictures of the cute boys who came to visit?
- we had a long talk while you were dating Reece?
- I wouldn't talk to you because you were pregnant and I wasn't? And I was stupid? It was a long nine months.
- you came down early to help me with Christian's surprise party, and when he walked in early, you yelled at him and told him to leave his own house?
- we talked on the phone for an hour a couple of days ago, and an hour the day before that, and the day before that...?
- you helped me through the hard times, and I helped you through the hard times?

Ohh, you made me cry! Thank you. What a special tribute to me! But you forgot one. . . Remember when I ate all of your ice cream shaped chapsticks (weren't there 6?). They really were good. Thanks again !
This gives me hope that my girls will all get along some day.
I don't get the sister relationship, since all I have is a bunch of brothers. Sometimes I have no idea what to do with all the drama! :)
Love the journal entry...too funny!
Sisters are the best!

Ice cream shaped chapstick??? How did I miss out on those?
Happy birthday!
Sisters, sisters, there were never such devoted sisters! That's what we always sing to my mom and her sister. I have a sister and she's 8 years younger, but we're finally getting close to each other. I always wanted a sister closer to my age. It's nice that as we're getting older, the age gap is closing. I'm just sad I didn't grow up having a sister around since she lived in Utah and I lived in California, plus I couldn't stand her for a long time.
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sister Brooke!! :)
That is so sweet Erin. I love sister friends. :)
I remember when Brooke ate your chapstick! And your Barbie shoes. Good times! Happy Birthday Brooke.
How cute are you as a young-un? I love it. I have 2 sisters, one I fought with constantly and one I got along with constantly. Needless to say, it was rough for the one I didn't get along with. I feel so bad about it now, and yes, now as adults, we are indeed friends. But we still have to be careful not to push the other one's buttons. Sisters are awesome.
What I'm enjoying now is watching my boys be brothers. My brothers were arch enemies until just recently, so it's wonderful and weird to watch Cal and Mi be best pals.
Those pictures are such fun. Happy Birthday sister!
(and I'll go say that to her too)
Thank you for making me feel normal after my rant post today. I love that about blogging. You find people who are early morning insomniacs just like you.
And I too cry to my husband, you're not a baby, just normal :)
I finally got some blogging time...YAY! I LOVE your blog, seriously. I love reading random stuff about you and getting to know you better. I LOVE your quotes on the side too! I don't know if I told you, but my hubby served his mish in Ames. His actual mission was the Des Moines, Iowa mission, but I know he spent lots of time in Ames too. He always tells me I need to one day see Iowa. Anyway, I'll be adding ya to my blog list so I can check back soon! See ya next park day:)
ohh, made me miss my sisters, and don't you miss playing cabbage patch kids and barbies!
fun fun!!
I didn't grow up in Logan, moved here in 1993 to go to Utah State and never left? We actually live in lewiston now, know where that is?? So don't think we could know each other? but maybe
happy birthday... I love the old photos. You were both beautiful girls and still are.
What a fun way to remember your memories! Reading this brought back so many of my sister memories.
