At the bottom of some people's posts, there is a line after the "post a comment" line that says "links to this post." It frequently has many links to other people's blogs, which don't even seem to be remotely related to the post written above it. What is this for? Am I missing something? Do you click on it yourself to get your post linked to it, or does it do something automatically?
And these days, there are three options for "comment form placement" (I stole that wording right out of my settings tab): 1. full page; 2. pop-up window; 3. embedded below the post. Which one do you prefer? I prefer the pop-up window for a few reasons. The embedded one makes the page too long, and I feel like I scroll forever. The full page one takes me away from the main page of your blog, and sometimes I go back to the blog to remember what I wanted to comment about, and so I like the pop-up window because I can still see your blog and go straight back to it after I close the pop-up window. What are your thoughts?
Oh, and I'm going to a little meet & greet hosted by a certain someone later this week. To quote Chandler Bing, "Could I BE any more excited?" Anyone else going?

At first I thought that this would be a way that I could link together my posts— but I was wrong. What I have noticed is that if you add a link in your post to another person's post your post will appear in the "Links to this post" portion of the page. I think it just gives readers a way of knowing that someone else has referenced this post in theirs and gives you a chance to see what they said as well.

I like the pop-up one. I can position the post where I need it for my comment, and be able to look back and forth.
I did the embedded one when it was back in draft mode-- I liked it then cause no one else had it, but I decided I really hated it because you can't change users in it. It's just irritating now.
I have no idea about the links, but I really don't like it. Its confusing to me when I'm trying to find the stinkin' post a comment button and I accidentally hit someone Else's NON RELATED post... UGH.

If you go back a couple months, you'll notice that the links at the bottom of the post are much more normal. Like actual links that someone posted in their blog.
Now, it seems like if someone clicks through from a blog sidebar it will make one of those links. It's a stupid glitch that has only been there a couple months and I really hate it. It used to be nice to see that someone had linked to a specific post of mine (and it was rare, but it did happen sometimes). Now, it's just an annoying list.
I like the pop-up for the same reasons you do. :)

And the links got crazy about a month ago. They are completely random now. I'm not sure what happened.

I prefer the pop up comment box like you have. And the link to this post is something I was just curious about the other day. I don't even know how to do it. I have seen a link to the post with my name on it too. I was wondering how that worked. That is nice of them though. I have to figure it all out.

I too prefer the pop up window and for all the same reasons as you. I have kind of a short recall and have to refer back to the post when leaving comments.
I'm hoping to be able to be at the Meet & Greet. I have to find a babysitter because my husband has to run stake basketball games that day. He's on the committee which consists of the High Coucil rep and him. It's a big committee. So, there's no way he can miss, or try and run the games, play in one of his own and pay attention to 4 kids at the same time. I'm going to try really hard to be there.
I like the pop-up window option best as well. I'm not even postive what the embedded one is...

I like the pop-up window for all the same reasons. I used to not care, but now I find it anoyning when blogs don't use the pop-up window.

I like the pop-up myself and that's what I use and as for the links, I've been asking everyone and wondering myself and I have no clue. Now within the last couple of days, I have been seeing my own links showing up and I have no idea why!
I'm a fan of the pop-window. It makes it so much easier to leave a comment and not forget where I was. I am a 'hater' of the embedded comment box..although, it doesn't stop me from commenting!

I had no clue about the pop ups until I started seeing them on others blogs. I have no clue about the links to. Now I gotta figure out how to do the pop ups!!

As for the links to post, a lot of things are going screwy because of those blogrolls that show the most recent post on a given person's blog. So the link mentioned in the link list is often just the automatic link created by someone's blog roll widget. Does that make sense? Probably not...I'm tired... =P

Okay, I know exactly what you're talking about. It is SO annoying. It used to be that if someone linked our blog in a post it showed up. Great. Now, we get like 30+ links showing up there and none of them have anything to do with our post. And on our blog at least, most of the "links" it's showing often come from one blog. Like it will just show 20 something different posts of hers. I think whoever mentioned the widget thing is onto something, that's the only thing I could think of. Like if a blog has one of those things that automatically shows updates on their favorite blogs, it will show it as a link. I dunno, I've been trying to figure it out as well.
I got nothing. Except that I wish I could be there for the meet and greet!
