Why My Weekend was Awesome, in Chronological Order

(Let me preface this by saying I am a horrible photographer. As in, I can be holding a camera in my hands and never take a picture the entire weekend. Duh! So I will be stealing pictures from other people's blogs and facebook pages.)

Desta - (this is her profile pic) I love Desta. She has two qualities I admire and I wish I had: she says what she thinks (without being cruel but being honest) and she is nice, but not too nice (I am too nice, and I don't like that about myself much of the time). She wrote a post about the 25 things she can't live without, and I seriously printed it out to take it to the store with me. I am either a great friend to her, or a crazy stalker. You decide.

Brookie and PF Chang's - I got to have lunch with my sister on Friday. It was so fun to visit with her AND eat a delicious meal. You haven't lived until you have tried PF Chang's chicken lettuce wraps. She was in town for only a couple of hours, so it was really fun to get together - now that we live over 5 hours apart, we don't see each other very often.

Abe coming home/Christian coming home - Christian had been out of town for five days on business, and flew in to the airport only 10 minutes after his younger brother, Abe, got home from his two year LDS mission to South Korea. What an exciting homecoming! Everything about it was awesome.

The Cheesecake Factory - Yum yum! 'Nuff said.

The Meet & Greet - Woo hoo! I was like a social butterfly, flitting around to almost every person, asking them who they were and what is their blog name. I figured I may never get to one again, so I needed to say hi to everyone while I could. I loved meeting everyone. And I was bummed that I didn't get more time to visit with more people. I loved Kristina's comment on my post yesterday: "You are exactly how I pictured you. Well, except for being 7 feet tall. :)" Yep, I am amazon woman. I am just shy of six feet tall. Now you know.

L&L Hawaiian Barbeque - When Abe left on his mission, his parents lived in Hawaii. While he was gone, they moved to eastern Utah. Abe really misses Hawaii! So we brought Hawaii to him, if only for a moment. (There is an L&L restaurant in P-town, so if you have never been there, you have to give it a try. I don't like macaroni salad, and I love theirs. And their barbeque chicken - YUM!)

Have I mentioned before that I like food?

There is actually more, but I have realized that this is a long post. So, I'll sum up: cousins, sacrament meeting, cemetery, laughing, talking, reminiscing, enjoying each other's company, staying up way too late, billiards, darts, eating, being together as a family (Christian and I have been married 12 years. I feel very much a part of his family.). It was a great weekend!

Yay for fun weekends! It really was a great time seeing you, even though it was short. I'm glad the rest of the weekend delivered!

that sounds like a wonderful weekend. How rude of your inlaws to relocate from hawaii to utah during your BIL's mission! I'll bet he moves back soon as he can...either that or hold a grudge the rest of his life like I would have. ;)

Sounds like a Fantastic weekend!

Ya know..I have never eaten at P.F. Changs..and I drive past there often. I really should go in there some day!

I knew you were tall, because you've said so before. I'm still trying to figure out why so many people expected me to be tall.

Barbaloot said...

I did notice how you managed to get around to everyone's tables to say hi. Very impressive and social of you:)

And also-how fun that Christian's brother came home. Some of my favorite memories are picking up my brothers from the airport when they returned home.

How fun.. Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend with family. I love PF Changs, and I love Cheesecake factory. What did you eat there?

You mentioned all of my favs in this post. PF Changs, Cheesecake Factory and L&L. What are you--a mind reader or something?! (0;

I haven't been to L&L in years!!

And I did know you were tall, but you seemed even taller, and I have 3 friends who are over 6 feet tall.

I've heard from people that I was taller than they expected as well.

It was great getting to meet you. Next time I'm in Cedar, I will let you know.

It sounds like you had a great weekend (even if you gained 100 lbs with all that yummy food!) It was fun to meet you and I was very impressed by your socialness--I just sat in my spot and waited for people to come to me. Thankfully I was right across from you or we would have never met.

I'm just grinning now. I get a long weekend down in the Provo area in April and I'm going to have at LEAST as much fun as that.

Okay, maybe not quite so much, but still...grinning!

How fun was all that!
Have you had the great wall of chocolate cake from PF Changs? It is amazingly delicious!

I wish I had Desta's qualities also. I'll have to check her out.

14 days!!!!

That sounds like a perfect week! PF Changs lettuce wraps are my favorite and I want to go to the cheesecake factory. Maybe the next meet and greet?

Wow, I have to admit it was a little weird coming across my own picture in my reader. I really enjoyed being able to see you too. And you are a mind reader about food. In the last few days I have been contemplating searching out a recipe for lettuce wraps. We love them too.

And thanks for calling me "honest" and "nice but not too nice." I usually use words like brutal and tactless. But that's just me. I think I'd much rather be generous and considerate like you.

I think this summer we should head down south and do some camping-like things with you guys.

That sounds like a fantastic weekend! PF Changs is the bomb! Cheesecake Factory...yum....I think I know what my upcoming weekend plans are now!

WE spend all our earnings of L&L, we go there way too often ..love it..

what a great time you had.

In Massachusetts P-town is Provencetown, located on the very tip of Cape Cod. It's known for its homosexual population. So I always laugh a little when you refer to Provo that way. At least I assume you're referring to Provo.

Sounds like a great weekend. And yummy.

Desta said...

And a very late PS - You are a GREAT friend. I don't think it's stalking if I know you're there. And I know stalking...

PF Chang's is awesome! I have had those lettuce wraps. At first I wasn't quite sure when my friend ordered them but ended up loving them.

Laura Marchant said...

Wait? I just read your about me...you can say the alphabet backwards in 5 seconds? Is there a video of this?

Kathy said...

What?! How can someone be TOO nice and NOT like that about themselves. Honestly, I'm quite sure it's why you were popular girl at the Meet-and-Greet. We are SO on for lunch next time I'm in town.

Melanie Jacobson said...

I have to second, third and fourth your food choices. And I can get them all right here in Huntington Beach which is super cool.

I so wish I could have gone to the meet and greet. It sounded awesome!

Sounds like a great time. The meet and greets sound sooooo fun, I just live to dang far away (ok, Arizona) but my hubby would not justify the cost of a plane ticket for one. Dang it!! Anytime you head down south to Mesa, Az let me know and I will meet up with ya:)

Looks like you had a great trip! Any trip that revolves around food is a good one in my book!
