The Last of the Pictures

I won't do any more posts about my Paris trip after today, I promise!

I was specifically thinking of Rychelle when I took this picture. I'm pretty sure this is a restaurant, but I know that Rychelle loves hippos.
The back of the Centre Georges Pompidou
The front of the Centre Georges Pompidou
Pretty chocolates
The parking lot at the church. Over 2,000,000 people live in Paris. There is one LDS ward in Paris (and other wards in outlying areas) and this is how big the parking lot is.
I love the buttresses on Notre Dame.
A beautiful and famous painting at Musée d'Orsay...now can someone please tell me who painted it???
In a Metro station
I love french handwriting!
A really cool building in the business district
Also in the business district - it reminds me of creatures out of the movie Beetlejuice.
Is this the cutest little calender you've ever seen? The chocolates I bought for myself. Let's see...the money this little box of chocolates cost me could have taken my husband and myself out to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. I'm savoring every bite.
I love this yogurt!! It's seriously a little piece of heaven.

The painting is a Manet.

I've loved living vicariously through you. Thanks for all the pics!

Off the top of my head, I think the painting's by Manet. I didn't realize it was in two frames like that -- cool.

I don't know why you think we want you to stop blogging about Paris. :)

While I was on my mission (Brussels Belgium french speaking, not quite 20 years ago) I figured out how to do my handwriting a little more French-looking -- basically, they actually form their letters differently than how we're taught in grade school. (It'd be easier to actually show you than tell you, though.)

Well, Monet was one of my other guesses. Manet does have a picnic painting too, but the central figure is nude.

(And I didn't mean to ignore Kaylynn's answer, I just accidentally didn't see it.)

What? No more paris?

Well, it's probably a good thing. You may have only gained a pound but I think I'm going to gain more on account of all the chocolate and cheese I've been craving after reading about your adventures!

Neil actually bought a nice camembert today...mmm....

On the plus side, the cadbury mini eggs aren't looking QUITE as tempting...

I love yogurt and have always wanted to try real French yogurt. Is it really that good?

I've loved seeing all the photos and reading about your trip. It has given me wanderlust!

Hippopotamus is in fact a restaurant. I used to stand outside one often waiting for the tram in Lille. I never went inside. I always wanted to because it was a French restaurant. But I wondered with an English name and it being a chain...would it really be good? I mean French good.

I love that chocolate, and all food for that matter, is art in France. I loved looking at the chocolats in lenotre and the box of chocolats from Michel Chaudun. Yummmmmmmmmm.

No wonder France doesn't have a temple yet...2,000,000 people in Paris and only one ward. I can't wait for them to have a temple someday. It's a small parking lot but have you ever seen a more beautiful one?! Cobblestones, arched windows, topiary plants...hello. Gorgeous.

I too like flying buttresses. I first started to appreciate them on the cathedral in Valenciennes, France. We lived two rues over from the cathedral. I loved the buttresses and hearing the bells peal throughout the day. I really miss the bells.

That painting is beautiful.

French handwriting: I love the numbers 9, 6, and 1.

Le vrai yaourt...you're right. Happiness. I miss it.

Thanks again for sharing. I don't mind if you post more!

I want to say it is either a Manet or a Monet.

They used to sell those yogurts at Trader Joes, my mom has dozens of the little bottles, she liked the yogurt, but she loved the bottles! She sticks tea lights in them and mini flower bouquets, etc. I recognized that package instantly!

I love the fact you blogged all week about this. I have never been and don't know if I will so it was awesome for me to see what fun things you did and the beautiful scenery and architecture. The food looks delish! I am going to have to google french receipes now and see if there is one for the yogurt as I love yogurt:) Thanks again for sharing.

It looks like there was so much to see and do. You are so blessed to get the opportunity to go. I hope someday to see Paris...but who knows if I ever will. I did love seeing your pictures of the sights!

Well, I'm clearly behind, but my first impression (heehee) was Manet, and others seem to agree. True, it is not the famous Dejuner Sur L'herb, but it looks lke his painting style.

Love it. And, by the way, I would have gained at least 5 pounds in France!

I went to Paris years ago. Apparently they have made the bathrooms free since then ;) It looks like you had a wonderful time. Great April's Fools Day joke :) I haven't been on your blog in a long time. I can't wait to look through all the pictures from your trip :)
