I have been out of the blogging world for way too long now. And oh, how I have missed you all! I had a wonderful time in France, which you will be hearing about over the next week.
But you don't care about blather. You just want to know what you could possibly win. But before I tell you, let me just say that it is the sort of stuff I would really, really want to win if I had the chance. Because I love all things French. Some people may think it's kind of silly, if you don't love French stuff. If you think it's silly, then don't comment on this post. Because that's how this giveaway works - just comment on this post.
Grand prize:
#1 - (and most important) - a (small and very expensive) bag of chocolates and caramels from the famous chocolaterie of Michel Chaudun, which I will talk about in more detail later this week
#2 - an April 2009 Marie Claire magazine (in french) with Charlize Theron on the front, with a really cool haute couture spread and possibly questionable advertisements (I haven't looked at every page, but I know some things we in the US consider slightly pornographic the French consider regular)
#3 - a silver keychain with a little swivel doohickey that has the Arc de Triomphe on one side and the Eiffel Tower on the other
#4 - a small votive candle I purchased at the Sacré Coeur basilica (I really, really hope this isn't sacreligious. I paid for it, but instead of lighting it, I took it home to add to my giveaway. If it is sacreligious, I'm so, so sorry.)
#5 - a metro ticket and an RER ticket that you can promptly throw away after looking at them
#6 - and, for good measure, a couple of airline trinkets that you know you can't live without - an eye mask (still in package) that deludes you into thinking that you might actually be able to sleep on an 11 hour flight, a set of earplugs - never used! - and a "refresh yourself" towelette that they specifically tell you to "Enjoy!" on the back
There will also be three second place winners who will each receive a Lindt Lait Extra Fin Recette Originale chocolat au lait extra fin savoreux et fondant. Which, you know, is just a bar of milk chocolate. But it has french on the packaging. And I bought it at a Monoprix in France. And carted it all the way over here to the United States with love so that three of you could win one. Aren't I nice?
All you have to do is comment on this post by Thursday the 26th at 10:00 PM to be entered to win. I will announce the winners in next Friday's post.
Oh, and about this week's blog posts: I posted on my private blog every day while I was in France. But I was too jet lagged and lazy to make the posts interesting. I had planned on creating new blog posts for this blog that were witty and fascinating, but who am I kidding? I'm still too jet lagged and lazy to do that. So I'm going to copy and paste the posts I wrote each day for the next six days, but I will include pictures this time (I didn't bring my camera cord to France). However, when I got home and actually looked at my pictures, I realized how truly horrible of a photographer I am. So, if you don't want to read about my adventures, then just
