He's Growing Up

Today is Ethan's 6th birthday. It took us 13 months and Clomid to get pregnant with him. We were SO excited to find out I was pregnant! We waited anxiously for the day when he would arrive in our home. I had 42 piano students when I was pregnant, and I was the billing manager for a chiropractor. I had my final recital for all of my students on the night of April 24, and around 4:00 the next morning I went into labor. He was born at 1:04 in the afternoon. What an exciting time in all of our lives - for Christian and me, becoming parents, and for Ethan, arriving from heaven!

Happy birthday Ethan. We love you!

We timed my first son's birth to happen in Utah in a 2-month window between returning from living for almost a year in Amman, Jordan and moving to Berkeley for my husband to attend grad school -- and it worked out, but I'm still amazed we gave ourselves such a narrow margin. (And we did have to move when he was just two weeks old, which was not so fun.)

I just read on facebook that my sister in law is no longer driving (she's pregnant with her first, is completely skinny and healthy but claims that she can't fit behind the wheel.) I'm pretty sure she just likes the drama of it. It sounds like you were just the opposite! Good for you.

Cynthia said...: He's a handsome little critter and certainly worth the wait and effort. If you loved Clomid, you should really try injectibles- the old school ones I had to use with the super long needles. No matter- none of that fertility stuff was fun.
