from left to right: Aidan, Doggy, Scrubby (Christian named him; he's a western Scrub Jay), Froggy, Turtle, Fishy, and...Rascal. Rascal is a lemur. We don't know how Aidan came up with the name Rascal. We didn't remember using that word at our house, but Aidan named him Rascal. And he has to sleep with all of these animals at night; if one is missing, he can't sleep.

Hope he has a big bed :)
Wow - I get to be first to comment! Don't you love kid's night rituals? I bet that's fun for you when you go out of town!
Max always had to make sure he had his blanket and stuffed dog for bed. But he seems to be phasing out that.
Brilliant names! Of course, this is coming from someone who named her dolls "Product 19" and "Vanilla." Probly better he names them after what they ARE rather than a food...
I love the innocence of finding joy in stuffed animals! My kids are into webkins right now....it makes me smile when even my 13 year old pulls his out and they gather aorund the computer to update the online profiles..then they play with them for a while and it just does my heart good!
Too cute! Its funny how kids make friends with things.....
My Mo-Tay insists on TWO thomas the train blankets, one curious george stuffed animal and a blue teddy bear. Funny boys!
P.S. They don't look that lumpy to me! ;)
Adorable! I love the name Rascal. Maybe he heard it on a TV show or in a book?
Sophia has just begun to insist on having about 100 animals and babies in bed with her every night.
lol that is too cute! My kids don't have rituals, not even something special they like to cuddle up with. they have it.. they just never were attached like that. I wished they were, I think it is so darn cute. And he is a doll Erin!
I used to do the exact same thing when I was a kid. My youngest is getting a little attached to one of his sister's baby dolls and has been sleeping with it. I think it's so cute.
When my son was little, he had six blankets that he had to sleep with. This started when he was about 8 months old. I don't know how he knew that one was missing at only 8 months, but he did, and he would cry and cry until he had all of them! This continued until he was five, and now he sleeps with just one (and he's 8).
Heavens! I thought it was hard when my daughter couldn't sleep without her puppy. How do you manage to not lose ANY of them?
My youngest son is into stuffed animals too. Dontcha just love that innocent period when they are pure and easy to please? He is a cutie, btw.
Where do you even find stuffed lemurs?
Oh dear, you totally have my sympathy on that one!
Too cute. And we know all about that in this house with all of our little man's "friends". Precious photo.
Does he frek out in the middle of the night if he wakes up and can't find one of them? Mine does and it drives me nuts!
Awww Aiden is such a cutie.
So if you travel, do they all have to come with?
So funny....this totally reminds me of my childhood. All of us kids had tons of stuffed animals. And boy did we play with them a lot.
I have a stuffed dog named Dudley. When I was little, I couldn't sleep without him.
I also collected beanie babies, and everytime I got a new one it slept in the bed with me.
I had about 300 beanie babies.
My bed was VERY crowded.
Love me a good stuffed animal! I wish Sissy would get attached to one. Then maybe she wouldn't need to sleep in my bed. Every time.
TJ has a collection too. He calls them his "guys." He has to have like 12 animals cuddled around him to go to sleep, every night.
I wonder what his wife will think of that when he grow up.
We never had stuffed animal slumber parties; my son believed that the stuffed animals came to life at night and would only sleep with his blanket in bed. I love that Aidan needs the entourage.
My husband is a fisher and I've made beer battered fish before. I think I'll try your recipe next time on some onion rings, it sounds great and so did your response to the anonymous among us.
Best of luck getting through your to do list!
That is adorable, but how do you do it?! Gabe has 2 he sleeps with & the hunt is on every single day at naptime & bedtime. It drives me crazy.
I agree with Anne-Marie, and think you're super mom for being able to make sure he has all of them at night!
Riley used to do that. He had cars AND animals and we were expected to kiss each of them before bedtime. Individually. Twice. Yeah, that didn't last so long. Now he gets one or none. So you're a better mom than I am! :)
Here is something crazy for you to ponder...Nate names his stuffed animals similarly, i.e. fishie, froggie and today when he got a horse he said he might name him Rascal. I was totally taken back because I had just read your post earlier in the day(by myself and to myself).
He is so cute and I hope that you know where to buy another one just in case...
My son was like that, but only for a week or so. Maybe he'll still get attached, he's only 1.5.
So cute! My son went through that phase too- right down to the naming thing. We have Pengwee, Alli the aligator, etc. etc. Any animal plus the y sound at the end.
I'd sure hate to have to look for one of those critters in the middle of the night!
Ah, so cute! My daughter, who is 10.5, still has her stuffed animals that she loves. In fact, yesterday she went to the zoo and came home with two more! Aiden's a cutie.
My Aiden is the same. His bed is literally piled with stuffed animals. I don't know how they sleep with all that stuff on their beds.
