For Just One Week

Last week I read my scriptures every day. The thing I didn't realize was how hard it would be to remember to do it! Twice it was 10:30 (or 11:30) at night and I thought, D'oh! I have to read. So I would pull out my scriptures and read a couple of chapters. But hopefully it will be a bit easier now to remember.

I'm afraid this week's goal might just tip me over the edge to Panic Attack City. But I really want to do it. A little background: I love my home. I love staying home. I love playing games and reading with my boys. I love making meals and treats with them. I generally don't leave my home unless I need to. But I have decided my kids need some more outdoor experiences before they go back to school. So, For Just One Week, I will do something with my kids, outside, every day.

Is there anything you want to work on for just one week?

I'm like you, Erin. I love staying home! We don't spend as much money, I get more time with Shelby, and I just hate to be on the go! Home is where it's at for us.

I would love to have the dishes done every day for one week! My goal this week is to stay on top of household duties (and organize) every day while I am without a car.

Hmm--for just one week? How about I make it a goal to do make-up every day for just one week. We'll see where that gets me...

Hey, I'm exactly the same way. I have to force myself to go anywhere. I act like its a big fun deal when we go to Walmart, so they think they got to go do something fun.

You live in a beautiful area for outdoor experiences. I like these weekly goals, I need to do it, not just like it!

Oooo...good one! I have the same issue, except probably more extremely than you. I'm practically a hermit at times. I'm going to unabashedly copy you and do the same one this week.

You're so stinkin' awesome!!!!!!!!!! I'd love to work on a billion things and that's why I never get any done because they're all swimming around in my forgetful, unorganized brain!!! Eeek. Start slow. You're inspiring!

We just started a scripture study reward program at our house. If we read fourteen days in a row, we get a reward like a trip to Dairy Queen or Barnes and Noble.

I wish I were a homebody like you. Then summer break wouldn't be so hard on me.

I've been doing the one activity outside everyday thing with my kid for a while, and I have to say...I think he loves me more now. Have fun!

Good for you! Our problem is we like being outside too much so nothing inside gets done.
I think, for one week, I'm going to try and get up BEFORE the kiddos so I can be showered and ready for the day before I let them out of their cages.

A scavenger hunt might make that fun! Your weekly goals are a great idea because they may push you a little but they are attainable.

It really is more about the habit. I need to focus on the same with scriptures.

I go out almost every day with my kids. I wish I sat inside and chilled more. The kids wake up and say, "what are we going to do that's fun today Mommy?!"

I should make more goals. Right now, I am in a day to day mode. I think I'll have to just bask in your success : )

As this is the last week before school starts I decided I was going to PLAY more with my children this week. Yes, I take care of them, I read to them, I am in the room with them while they play, but I never actually play. So, this week that will change. I hope.

I like reading your weekly goals. Perhaps it will rub off on me sooner rather than later :) What a great goal to do something outdoors every day! I love being outdoors that would be an easy one for me. I should probably pick up my house every day :)

I'm loving your weekly goals. Especailly this one!

I like it when my kids want to play outside, and when they ask to go to the park, or go swimming.

I can't stand to stay inside for too long.

Wow, good luck Erin!
I spend all of my time indoors. Spending a week outside of the house... I don't think I could do it.

I stay home physically, but mentally still have work to do on the computer. I would love to be home more mentally as well!

I have had a number of those late night scripture reading realizations myself. Thanks for the encouragement to keep trying.

Good luck! And I am working on staying alive while running in this unbelievably heat and humidity.
