Random Stuff and Some Tunes

My kids have a new favorite meal. And when I say "meal," I use the term very loosely. But they would eat it for every meal and snack if I allowed it. Here is the recipe: Open one can of Nalley Original or Turkey Chili con carne with beans. Plop (yes, plop) into a microwave safe bowl. Drop in 4 oz cream cheese. Microwave until hot, mix together, and serve with tortilla chips. Or, in their case, give them a bowl full, watch them squish two or three chips into smithereens, mix it together, and eat it with a spoon. Can you say YUM?

My family has started a new hobby that all four of us enjoy (miracle of miracles!) - rock hunting. I'm sure this will blow you away to learn about me - in 10th grade I came in 3rd place for the state of Utah in the Science Olympiad in the rocks & minerals category. I forgot much of the information since then, but we have picked up a couple of gem books and a book that shows us locations in Utah for different kinds of rocks, and we have been out a few times searching for agate and other cool rocks. We have had a lot of fun!

I am in love with a new lotion. I purchased some Moringa Body Butter from The Body Shop while in San Diego. They have changed the formula of their body butters so they aren't so oily or clingy or whatever the problem was before - and I can't get enough. It is delicious. Yes, I said delicious. I would eat it if it didn't taste disgusting.

Must click link of the week - Jan from Crazy Lady on Road 80: Mormons Are Odd - I Get That

My iTunes list this week (play along with Motherboard):
1. Gravity - Sara Bareilles
2. I Gotta Feeling - Black Eyed Peas (my kids love this one)
3. Glory of Love - Peter Cetera (what are you lookin' at?)
4. I'm Yours - Jason Mraz
5. Keeps Gettin' Better - Christina Aguilera
6. Undone (The Sweater Song) - Weezer
7. Interstate Love Song - Stone Temple Pilots
8. Under The Bridge - Red Hot Chili Peppers
9. Come On Get Higher - Matt Nathanson
10. Losing My Mind - Maroon 5 (If I write this song down every week for the rest of eternity, will you believe me when I say it is one of my favorite songs ever? If I tell you it's about a guy who is basically stalking a woman will you think I am a little cuckoo? Or if I tell you it's about Adam Levine who is stalking a woman, will you silently wish the woman was you?)

Gotta love that chip dip! I should start eating it for every meal!! And I do enjoy Body Shop stuff...I didn't know they changed the formula. Now I'm going to have to try it.

Oh Erin, you make me laugh. Always a smile when I come visit you. The chili and cream cheese has been a long time favorite, and at least your kids are getting protein, dairy and grains when they eat it, right? Not just sugary stuff. Thanks for the smiles!

Yum, indeed! I'll have to serve it when my husband isn't home for dinner sometime, alas, because he hates chili.

Oh I think we will have to try your snack/meal.. that sounds good. Taco salad is already a favorite in our house, but for Lucas it usually consists of chips and sour cream with a tiny bit of meat.. I wonder if he would go for this.

Wait...how do you know it tastes nasty? Hee hee.

Going to go listen to some of those songs now, I'm so far behind on the music scene...

Please don't invite me to your house when you make that meal:)

Love your tunes listed---especially Gravity.

LOVE that recipe! I'm seriously going to try that this weekend. It sounds heavenly. I think rock hunting is fun! I remember when I was little having one of those rock machines that you put the rock in there and it shines it up slick!

See, I absolutely REFUSE to try that recipe until I have your metabolism Erin. Any tips on how I can make that happen? lol

I'm down with every single one of your tunes. Except I haven't heard the Maroon 5 one. But I love the one about the girl cheating and the boyfriend killing her lover, so I'd be okay with the stalking one. I'd also be okay with Adam Levine stalking me. But is it "stalking" if I return the affection?

I'm impressed with the fact that your kids will actually eat chili. Mine wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole!

Gravity is my favorite song right now. Love love it.

You are a rock hunter? Very cool! And my youngest son would eat chili three meals a day if I allowed it.

Sounds like a meal my kids could relate to, and yes, I agree with you - Jan's "Mormons are Odd" post is a good one!
