The results of our going outside week:
Monday - Spent an hour at the library, and then went to the airport to watch airplanes take off and land
Tuesday - Walked to the nearest restaurant to get ice cream cones, went rock hunting
Wednesday - Rode bikes up and down the street, began a rock garden in our backyard, Christian took A camping
Thursday - Went shopping in St. George with E in AM, Christian took E camping in PM, played with A outside in PM
Friday - Took A to the park AM. Played ball in the backyard as a family PM.
Saturday - Went rock hunting as a family (and got a nasty scrape on my shin in the process). But we found lots of amethyst, pyrite, fluorite, azurite, and other cool -ites!
Sunday - worked on our rock garden in the back yard
Whew! I did it! It certainly helped that Christian took Thursday and Friday off of work, but still - I got the kids outside every day. And I didn't even cry.
My goal this week: to read. As simple as that. My blogging has seriously cut into my reading time in the past (X amount of free time - X amount of time blogging = 0 amount of free time left). So my goal is to read a minimum of two books this week. I'll still be around in blog world though - I've got stuff to say. :)
P.S. I have been really enjoying it when people write in the comments what they are planning on doing For Just One Week. For those of you who have, how's it going? And for those who haven't, is there anything you want to do for just one week?

I love rock hunting. That sounds fun to do with the activity day girls. Sounds like a fun week. Have fun reading too.
I came home and was reading emails and got all these from Erin blog. Thanks for passing on the Mormon post. It was fun reading your friends comments too.
I really need to get outside more!
Way to go! I haven't dared make a FJ1W goal yet. I'm a wimp.
Yay for you and being outside and not crying!! WHOO HOO!!
I LOVE to read. I try to read 1 book a week if I can.
I love amethyst. I would love to go outside (somewhere close to home) and be able to find some.
I'm still sticking with the sugar thing, but my FJ1W has been more like FJ4-5Days per week. At least I'm doing something. I've decided to add scripture study for this week. Yeah, I am kind of a copy cat.
you're doing such a great job with this!!
i'll be making some goals, but not til the boys get back into the swing of things with school...i can't even think straight right now.
Good news-I wore make up every day last week. I like your reading idea---what are you planning to read?
FJ1W I'm going to read scriptures every day.
I have been loving your FJ1W posts. This week, we're concentrating on having family prayer every night. We haven't done that for a long time.
Good for you! Glad you had a great week and made it with just a few bumps and bruises :)
Hi Erin. I've been missing you. We cancelled our internet and this is the first time I have been able to read your blog in a long time. Sounds like the rock hunting has been fun.
FJ1W I am going without sugar. This is a toughie, but the good Doc says I drink too much Kool-Aid. I ask you, is that even possible? ;)
I think I will focus on folding my laundry as soon as it comes out for just one week. It usually sits there for at least a week before I get around to folding it. Wish me luck. You know how hard this one will be for me.
Good for you! I totally cheated on the taking the kids outside thing. I blocked off the side entrance to the deck and let them play out there by themselves. Not quite the romping around in the yard I'd planned on, alas. I'm going to try again this week.
Hi Erin,
I like this idea of outside week!
But now my kids will be in school so I will have to save it for later!
For just one week, I am going to read my Book of Mormon, in anticipation of of early morning seminary coming up, Which I GET to teach to my daughter. I really should have started this one earlier, since we are starting SOON!
Thanks for inspiration to accomplish a goal.
I need that sometimes!
Rosey
FJ1W I would like to not have an anxiety attack over this relocation. May this be the week!
Hey Erin - I tried and failed last week - promised to read every day but my choice of book was wrong! This week I'm going to walk to and from work and do something at home each evening!! Good luck with your FJ1W this week
Heather
I think just reading is a great goal!!
I did a week off of blogs, Twitter, and Facebook. It was an AWESOME week!! It totally broke my blog addiction. It's now just a hobby. :)
I love this new "series" of posts and goals. Mine might have to be a new one once a month, but it has definitely got me thinking!! So thanks!
Ok so this week will be the first without my husband. I am going to make a goal to continue our family scripture and prayer even with out him! I think it will be much harder to do it alone...
I love these! I would like to floss every day for just one week. (by the way we have been married 13 years.)
I wish for just one week I could stop counting calories.
Never gonna happen. I have the calories stored in my head. Even if I wanted to stop, I would still know how many I ate based on what I was eating.
For just one week I am NOT going to cry while my baby goes to first grade. I hope.
Maybe for Just One Week, I'll be sarcasm free.
Nope, aint' gonna happen, but I admire you and your goals!
Wow! TWO books in ONE week? You are one fast reader! What'cha going to read?
