Redneck

I'm not sure if I can hate the elliptical machine any more than I actually do. I mean, who actually wants to climb stairs for 30 minutes? Without having the ability to straighten your legs? For 30 minutes? Thank goodness I had the tv show "Biggest Redneck Wedding Ever" on my iPod to keep me company while I cried out in pain. (Thank you, iTunes, for the free tv show episodes that I download all of the time. Tomorrow's workout will include "Monk." Watching tv helps pass the time better than music does right now. I can almost kind of forget what I am doing. Almost.)

As a side note, my butt's already looking nice and toned, and I have only gone exercising three times. Woo hoo!!!

So, I haven't exercised at all during the summer, with my schedule. I am giving myself this week to get acclimated back to my previous schedule, and then I'm back on the elliptical!!

There is never ending trash on TV to keep me interested.

i don't think i could do my gym time without tv. and, monk is an excellent choice!

Your butt ALREADY looks good? I'm not mature enough to be happy for you.

It would take a heck of a lot more than three times for my butt to look remotely toned or nice.

I love Monk. It is one of my favorites. I am sad that this is the last seaon.

Go Erin!

I hate the Elliptical. You're amazing.

Isn't it so annoying that you can get immediate results from exercising. It just proves that it actually does work and if you want the results to keep, you HAVE to keep doing it.

I can't do elliptical machines. My feet fall asleep. Strange but true.

Yay on the toned bum!

I say, whatever works! Awesome that you are taking care of yourself! To often, "the mom" neglects herself...
:~D

Go Erin Go! I'm hoping watching you (well, hearing about it) get inot the groove will motivate me. I used to do the eliptical now and then, we used to be friends. But lately we've lost touch.

I HATED the elliptical when I first starting using it....now, I LOVE it! Once I figured out how to not have my feet fall asleep : )

I can't walk on the treadmill unless I can watch TV. (just music doesn't work for me)
Unfortunately, we don't have a converter box on the TV in the basement where the treadmill is, so I guess I can't exercise.

It's really very sad;0)

Yeah, I'm kinda thinking what others are--you're getting that kind of results after 3 workouts? Dude, what I wouldn't give for THAT!

Laura said...

Only after THREE times!! You probably didn't have much of a butt to work off anyway!! LOL!!

It was hard for me to get used to the elliptical at first. But after a few times I enjoy it now. If only I could burn as much calories doing that as running. Haha.

I workout to DVDs and I have to change them up every day so I don't lose interest. Good for you seeing results already.

I miss My elliptical, we sold it before this last move and the only way to do it is with a TV.

I am feeling a little jealous, and a little inspired...... and very satisfied (as I just ate a delicious chocolate yogurt melt chocolate chip cookie.) Yum.

I am quickly becoming a big fan of cable tv (which we don't have at home - but my parents have in abundance). HGTV makes me happy. I pity my poor husband when I finally get home though because all these home makeover shows are DANGEROUS.

Happy exercising!

You go, girl! I was doing a stepper I had at home...but it did permanent damage to my knee. So now I'm on a bicycle every morning, reading while I work out.

Three days of exercise and your butt is already looking great? I hate you. Just kidding. But really, I've been working out since my senior year of high school, so like 100 years, and my butt still looks flabby. Ugh.

Jen said...

I'm a fan of the elliptical, personally. I wish I had one at home.

Ha ha ha. I'm also not mature enough to be happy for you. I HATE ALL EXERCISE. But, I don't mind the elliptical too much if I'm watching something really juicy, like The Bachelor - you know, something ridiculous that makes the time whoosh past? That's what I need, too.
I have found that the elliptical is not effective for me in weight loss, but it does tone me up and make me stronger. I usually gain weight, because it builds muscle. I'm like: OK, I don't really care about muscle, I just want to burn these blasted calories and say goodbye to my huge rear-end. Alas, I suppose I need to cut down on sweets more than I need tons of exercise. That's so unfair.

I've never used that machine, and I never ever ever ever want to.
Heck, even the bike thing is hard for me.
And the treadmill.
Exercise stiiiiiiiiiinks.

I hate the elliptical. I also hate the treadmill. I prefer to exercise outside. Even in the snow.
If I have to do something inside, it will involve weights.

p.s. I'm proud of you!

Monk will help. He's so odd, he's bound to keep you occupied, forgetting that your legs don't bend :)

Almost thou persuadest me to exercise. Almost.

I love that you watched Redneck Wedding....so funny. One of our favorites is Hell's Kitchen. It's quite entertaining!

I'd love to leave a longer comment but now I need to go to youtube and look up Biggest Redneck Weddings...

That's must be why I'm no good at working out- no tv on my ipod (or for that matter, no ipod that works :()

Ellipticals were invented by people with no legs, just to torture the ones that do.

Jen said...

Snort! That is too funny--the Biggest Redneck? Never heard of it, but sounds like a fun show! Ha. Maybe you'll be my inspiration to exercise!

I've been hitting the gym all summer and I've been hitting the chocolate chip cookies even harder. My butt doesn't know what to do!
