I threw up this morning for the first time in this pregnancy (actually, for the first time in any of my three pregnancies). I scared Ethan half to death too. I was standing in the kitchen trying to figure out what to eat, when I realized I would not make it to the bathroom. So, I leaned over and started retching into the sink. Ethan asked if I was okay, but I couldn't respond. He took off like a jet. After I finished (with tears running down my face and in desperate need of a kleenex), I went looking for Ethan. He was hiding in the playroom with the door closed. I assured him that I was okay, and that I just had morning sickness (for the first time at 13 1/2 weeks?! What is that about?!). I asked him if he was okay, and he said, "I'm shaking a little." Sweet little sensitive kid! I gave him a hug and told him I was fine.
I've been a terrible blog friend lately. I haven't read blogs in a week, and I have been lurking for the two or three weeks before that. Some of you are probably giving up on me. I would probably be giving up on me by now too. I can only hope that I start feeling better soon, and that the desire to blog (or do anything besides sleep on the couch) will return. I have four blog posts swimming around in my head that I would love to get to at some point.
Just know - if I have commented on your blog EVER in the last three months, I am reading your blog (just not commenting right now). I miss you all. I hope to be "back" soon.
(P.S. The kids have strep throat at my house too. That has kicked me back a step or two also. My goal is to have everyone in our house feeling good by Christmas! Knock on wood.)

I'm so sorry you're still feeling so awful! Sheesh! 13 1/2 weeks, eh? I hope it was both your first AND last time. And I, too hope you get feeling well enough to blog. I kept hoping that for myself, too, but I didn't and that plus needing to spend any energy I had being a mom meant very little blogging at all! I hope it's better for you and this one episode was the grand finale of your morning sickness! (and poor little Ethan! It's so hard to see mommy unwell. Especially like that.)
Oh, throwing up is horrible! Any chance you might have strep too? I learned last year that throwing up is a symptom.
I'm doing a lot less commenting lately too; you know how life has busy stages. We're all still around, though. :)
Glad *Ethan* is okay . . . I'm thinking you might have been shaking just a bit too. :)
Throwing up is no fun! :(
Just take it easy and rest!
:)
Erin
Take care of yourself.. We miss your posts!!
Hope that was the last time throwing up too .. not fun
Oh, how awful! I always hate throwing up, but I love how I always feel better afterward. Your poor son! During my pregnancy I was sick so often my two year old thought it was a funny joke and would join me at the toilet, imitating me. I am not sure which I would rather have, the scared child, or the copy cat. I hope you feel better soon!
Take your time! We'll be here for you when you get back.
Strep throat is the worst. I hope it goes away soon. Stupid strep throat!
My morning sickness was the worst with my first. I threw up multiple times a day until about 5 months. By my 4th, I think I threw up 5 times total. Anyway, it was a lot less.
Hope you and your kiddos feel better soon!
Ugh. I hate the throwing up. I had hyperemesis (read overly-dramatic uncontrollable vomiting) with both my kids and threw up about 25 times a day for my entire pregnancy. I wanted to die. Seriously die. I feel your pain! Take it easy!
Sorry you're feeling sick---but glad for the reason why:)
Hopefully you and the whole family feel good soon!
I am so sorry bout the puking. I did it through both pregnancies all 9 months and I know how it feels. I remember Bud was 3 when I was preg with Boog and when I threw up he would panic too. He wanted to know why the baby made me throw up paint. guess he saw all the colors.
Good luck, we have strep at our house too. Keep your chin up!
I can sympathize with yucky morning sickness, so you just stay rested and take it easy!
I have been lurking ore than usual, but I miss my contacts so I am on to renew friendships! :-)
Please feel better soon!
I felt pretty good by week 15. Even the tiredness was better. Good luck!
Hey I'm 38 weeks preggo and dry heaved just this morning...weird. Anyway, we have strep at our house too...not fun! Gotta love the sweet boys that we have!
I'm so sorry to hear about all the sickies! I hope you all feel better soon!
Friends don't give up on friends! I'm pretty sure it's against the rules.
Your first time throwing up in all three pregnancies?! I'm totally jealous! Hope you feel better soon and that the sick bugs in your house go away. Strep is no fun! Course swine flu isn't either...we just all got over that! Tis the season, I suppose. Hang in there!
I hope you feel better soon!!
I am glad you finally threw up! The nagging nauseous feeling is THE WORST!
I am sorry your little boy had to witness it...Ohhh. Lots of (((HUGS))) to YOU and your children. I hope U had a wonderful Thanksgiving..and whenever you feel like blogging again we are here for ya. You are actually like ONE of the FIRST blogs I really started to read. I won't give up on ya now... Take care!
--Whew--
(I saw "No title" and got really scared that something bad had happened. Whew.)
I didn't throw up for the first time till after my first trimester with my first baby, and with this one. Luckily I was able to run to the bathroom and close the door, so my boys haven't seen me get sick yet.
I hope you'll feel better soon. Being out of commission in any area of your life is frustrating.
no worries :) I've been lurking forever. sometimes its just easier. I hope that your morning sickness doesn't last to much longer.
This is just a crazy/busy time of year so I think lots of people just lurk.
Hope that was the one and only time you get sick.
That's sad. I hate it when you get past 13 weeks and THEN you throw up. Yuck. But I admire you greatly... with how tired I am, I can't even IMAGINE being pregnant AND taking care of kids.
Oh bless your heart. So sorry the morning sickness has you down. No guilt necessary about blog responding...I sooo understand...I'm not pregnant but recently moved and have been in an overwhelmed funk ever since...keeping up with blogs is tough...and yes, my comment count fell...but my sanity stayed in tact and I think that's the more important of the 2. :-)
Oh man! Lets hope today was the first AND last time for the next..however many weeks!
Don't feel guilty not blogging! There is so much more to life!!
Aaaww yuck, throwing up is the worst. It hurts and I get tears coming down my face as well. I hope you get feeling good soon, just know that this will pass (hopefully soon) and then it won't seem as bad.
I'd say it is more likely that you have Strep yourself than morning sickness. How are you feeling otherwise? I hope it's the LAST time you throw up.
I never threw up in either of my pregnancies- not even with the twins. Small consolation for the hell required for us to even GET pregnant but something I appreciated nonetheless.
I hope you are feeling like yourself again soon.
I wonder if you're having a girl since this pregnancy sounds so different.....anyway, I'm sorry you feel so ill and that you have sick kiddos, too. Hopefully you're just getting it all over with now instead of later!
I'm sorry you're feeling so sick. And if it makes you feel better, I haven't really even been lurking much at all over the past 6 months. I have a folder in my google reader that says "people who I think are my real blog friends."
You are on that list.
Just know, I'm thinking of you! I hope you get feeling better, and your munchkins, too!
Oh, and with my illness I've had for the past several months, but kids have just gotten used to seeing me get sick over and over again. Poor kids.
Geesh, take it easy. Play up these nine months and get some pampering in, don't worry about anything else but what matters most. We'll still be here when you get to feeling better.
No worries!!! I'm sure everyone understands, as I'm sitting here in my 23rd week drinking ginger tea and trying not to puke myself :o)
Hope everyone starts feeling better REALLY REALLY soon!
Oh Erin~I hope you all feel better soon and Ethan is such a sweet boy I could just hug him!!!
Man, I hope you all feel better soon!! Morning sickness and the fatigue that comes with it are just not fun!
I agree with some of the above mentioned comments - strep can make you throw up:( (nurse giving you advice here - please go get checked for it - strep is not good for your baby!) You can be a blog lurker all you want - we just want you to have a healthy pregnancy and healthy baby! We can always reread your old blog posts in the meantime:)
That is somehow so sweet and tragic at the same time - "just shaking a little." Awwwwww!
You're still more consistent at blogging than I am! I just don't have anything much to say right now.
I'm sorry you are so sick. All I can say is that I hope you get feeling better before Christmas.
Sorry you haven't been feeling well. No Worries! Just take care of yourself. I am sure everyone will still be around here when you get back to feeling your normal self again.
I really hope you start feeling better soon, hopefully you will be back to yourself soon.
Maybe your pregnant with twins. :) Okay, maybe not such a funny joke. I didn't throw up with my first 2 pregnacies either until I got pregnant with my twins. I'm just sayin'.....
I hope you all feel better soon. That stinks when everyone is sick in some form or other.
Oh my...this is a wonderful and exhausting season of life for you lady. HARD WORK. I hope you are all well for Christmas too!
Peace,
Heather
Thinking of you lately. Hope your family gets over the germs quickly. Yeah for being on week 13!
So sorry about the sink incident. And your sweet little guy! But it is okay for them to see us as actual human beings sometimes and not just the mom who is always 100%.
Take care!
