Can You Help Me Find My Marbles? and other pregnancy-related stuff

A couple of days ago I caught myself putting a cereal box in the fridge.

Yesterday, I found the utility scissors in my bathroom drawer.

This morning, I said to Christian, "I had a great idea during the night! Let's have each boy pack their own special bag for when I go into labor, and they can each purchase a gift for their sister!" Christian said, "Yes, I came up with that idea a few days ago and told you about it. Don't you remember? (Then jokingly) Are you going to take every good idea and claim it as your own?" I replied, "Well, I did invent the internet so yes, I think I will."

I'm definitely losing my mind. Any guesses as to where I will actually find it?

~~~~~~~~~~
I had a slightly upsetting realization yesterday: the baby is due June 3, and while I certainly have no idea when she will actually arrive, there is a possibility that she could come two weeks early like both of her brothers. This puts us at approximately May 20, which is right around the time when all of my favorite shows have their season finales: Survivor, LOST (series finale) and Glee. I can't go into labor if my shows are on! I can not miss an episode. But, I don't want to jinx it and make her come a week late... However, then a friend pointed out that her daughter was born May 17 and she was able to watch the Friends series finale while she was in labor, and it really helped pass the time quickly. Hmmm, something to think about.
I want to sincerely thank everyone for your comments on my last post about epidurals vs. going natural. I read all of them, I took notes, I ordered the Hypnobirthing book, and at this moment I am still seriously considering going natural. I had almost 100% decided a few days ago, and then that night I had three nightmares about the pain of delivery and I woke up feeling completely freaked out and terrified. Since I am 31 weeks, I will continue to read information, think and pray about it, and see how it goes. I was sick all last week with a head cold and couldn't breathe. That, in addition to the exhaustion I seem to be experiencing, kept me mostly away from the computer. I am about three weeks behind on e-mails (sorry!) and some blog reading, but I may have some questions for some of you who commented. I had no idea so many women have done it naturally. I am really impressed!
Maybe you'd be able to watch your shows while in the hospital...that would be super nice, after you have the baby!
Oh boy do I hear you about the absentmindedness. Man. I also get very clutzy, even before I have weight imbalance to use as an excuse. It's terrible.
I hope you make your choice on epidural or no with absolutely no pressure from anyone. It seems like you're not getting any, so that's great. Either way, you get your baby and there is nothing in this world better than that!
I didn't comment on the last post, but I'll add my two cents now. My mom had me and my first brother naturally. She said she honestly didn't feel the pain was so unbearable and did not need an epidural. With my last brother, she had a completely different experience, she was also older (she was 20 and 27 with me and my brother and 33 with the last). She said it was just a lot harder and more painful, so she had an epidural. I think you have to be willing to have an epidural, but go natural if you're feeling good! I had an epidural with Shelby because I had major back labor, she was also posterior and they had to manually turn her. I think I would have died if I didn't have the epidural for that.
Ok so I wasn't even freaked out about missing my shows until now. I'm 32 weeks and will be having my c-section the week of the May 15th. Crap. Crap. Crap.
I was a little stressed about returning from Disneyland, and having about 27 hours worth of TV on my DVRs. Just record them. You will be fine!
I am laughing about your dilemma with the tv shows and the due date (not in a mean way)--just because I tend to not want my cozy routine interrupted even for life-changing events. Good luck!
Gotta love pregnancy brain! One day while I was pregnant, I was sitting at my desk speaking to one of our district managers. My phone started ringing (we have our own lines) and my co-worker said, "Brandy that's your line." I said okay and continued to speak with the manager, who kept giving me a weird look and I couldn't figure out why. Then after I completed my sentence I picked up the line and it was a dial tone. I said to my co-worker, "did they hang up?" She said "um, yeah because you didn't answer your phone." I have NO IDEA what I was thinking! I guess I thought the phone would wait for me???
Wasn't it your husband who said HE wanted to go natural, and you stole the idea??? ;)
I found my mind again last week...of course, there were pieces missing but it'll do, it'll do...
Hope you're feeling muchly better. I've been doing the head cold thing myself and it's just nasty!
As for TV, I just order my favourite shows on DVD and do marathon's of them. I find it much more satisfying, even if it means watching everything a year behind. =)
If history is any indication, you may NEVER find all your marbles.
Sorry.
I almost did the cereal box in the fridge thing on Saturday, so I guess there's no hope for you. Best of luck with your TV dilemma. Thank goodness for the internet!
Congrats to us for passing our 30 week mark! I feel like a milestone has been reached. (At least for me, I just had my last monthly OB appt... I go every 2 from now on.)
Don't you have a DVR? In this day and age, you shouldn't be faced with dilemmas like that.
I am with the others that say to record the shows...I use to catch up during night time feedings with my fussy baby.
Good luck with the natural child birth plan! I would love to know how you feel about hypnobirthing. That is one I have not yet researched myself.
My goodness what was the t.v. industry thinking when they schedule the finales then????
Or what were you & Christian thinking while trying to conceive? Surely everyone could have planned things better, lol.
My Mom had all 3 of us natural. I wasn't so bad at 7lbs 6oz, but I had to question her sanity with the boys both being over 23in and 10lbs 7oz, lol.
She did fine. I am sure you would as well.
I lost a book in my apartment. Seriously. It's a 500 sq ft apartment. I have NO IDEA HOW I LOST IT.
I wish I had a pregnancy to blame it on.
If you happen to find your marbles let me know where - mine just might be there too! (and I am not even pregnant - ha).
I love your blog - You are just....Cool!
Record. Record. Record. I think our DVR is my favorite electronic device. It's the best invention ever.
I don't have a DVR, so hulu is my best friend.
Hulu is the greatest invention for poor people since the antenna.
Just remember, you forget all about the pain. The day after she is born you wont be able to remember it.
I love pregnancy brain in other people. Makes me laugh so much! I had some great experiences as well. But I am going to have to say, you will probably get your brain back sometime after she is born. Something like that.
Have you looked in the refrigerator for your marbles? I once found the television remote there.
If you go into labor when one of your finales is on, you can always watch them on the tv in your room, right? I wish I had pregnancy as my excuse for putting things in weird places. I blame in on always multi-tasking! I really do it a lot.
Yes, don't these babies know that there are certain things like season finales, movies, that just need to happen ;)
my short term memory completely disappeared while I was pregnant...I would ask my husband the same question 3 of 4 times in an hour!
