Glamour Shots Gone Wild!

Kristina P. is doing a blog carnival where people post their wickedly awesome glamour shots on their blog for all the world to mock see. Kristina, are you sure you didn't mean a picture of Miss Ugly America?
The crown on top of my head says that I am Miss Ugly America. I'm pretty sure I won out of all ten of the twelve- and thirteen year olds at our Young Women's activity that evening. As you can see, this was taken in 1989, in all of my 12 year old glory, braces and all. I love the band-aid lovingly placed on my glasses. And I made that jumpsuit all by myself - one of the only things I have ever sewn.

Oh, you meant real glamour-like shots? I did have senior pictures taken by a really nice man who lived down the street from me. I thought I was so pretty/sexy/alluring/approachable/etc. in this picture:This was in 1994. Don't you love the purple silk shirt and black leather jacket? Doesn't it just scream 1994? I love how my hands are trying to be "natural," when clearly they are awkward. And what is the black thing underneath my leg? I can't quite figure it out. (P.S. The picture is covered in scratches, which is why the scan looks terrible.) (Another P.S. The purple silk shirt is long gone. I still have - and love - the black leather jacket. Christian teases me about it.)

Anyone one else want to play? Click on the picture below to link over.

I would have totally wanted to borrow that shirt in high school. :)

Oh man, your Ms. Ugly America shot is astonishing. :) The other one is very pretty, though! Still, it is quite funny for all the reasons you point out. But still pretty. :)

Of all the glamor shots I have seen today, yours actually is the most natural. I have looking at my hands in pretty much every picture ever taken of me.

So glad that mine are long lost! I think I would be mortified if I ever saw them again!

Completely awesome! I needed an extra big smile today so thanks. That should hold me over until Survivor.

That first one is gorgeous! I can't wait for one of our husbands to be elected into some kind of office and for SNL to find these gems.

I love the pose and the leather jacket. You really could use more makeup. You don't look clowlike enough.

I am Loving the pictures!! Your Senior pictures remind me of a movie star from back then and I cannot think of the name but I can see her face in movies. It is going to bug me now but if I can think of it I'll comment again!

Holy cow, you are brave to put that first one on! I always thought you looked beautiful in the second. I don't know how to scan mine or I would play along, too.

Oh goodness. I love the pose in the first one!

Senior pictures are so fun, why don't we keep getting them?

I think it is the leg of the stool/bench thing you are sitting on.

And those pictures are awesome!! That first one, well yeah too too funny :)

HA! That was so entertaining! Someday I need to get a new scanner so that I can post some fabulous pictures.

I never was cool enough to have a silk shirt, but you looked awesome in yours. That is the Erin that I so remember from HS. :)

I've never had an actual Glamour Shot session, but like I said to Barbaloot, I don't think some heavy make-up and big hair would cure what ails me... :(

I like the long, flowy hair.

Totally natural. I stand around like that all the time.

LOVE the 90's picture. Classic. I wonder if this decade's seniors are going to look back on their glamour shots and go "Oh man that was so 2000's!" That sounds awkward, but you know what I mean. I just think it's funny how things seem so cool and timeless now, and then we look back and go "...Wow."
