Ooh, this is post #666. Maybe I shouldn't be writing it??

Friday night I found a scorpion on our living room floor. This has never happened in the two years we have lived in southern Utah. And the scariest part was that it was the same color as the carpet - I just happened to see a shadow on the floor and took a closer look. Eeeeeek! (Especially because Kaitlyn had been laying on the floor just a few minutes earlier.) I am now accepting job applications for my husband to move out of state...

Friday night my internet went out. Saturday my husband took the boys fishing all day so I could spend the day relaxing, taking care of Kaitlyn, and catching up on reading blogs. And my stupid internet never came back! In fact, it was out until last night. That's right, folks - 72 hours without internet. I thought my head might explode. How can I nicely say this? I am very excited for December 24, when my contract with Qwest expires, because I will be promptly switching to a new internet service.

I'm worried about one of my extended family members. Please send some positive thoughts and vibes (and prayers, if you will) in the direction of New York City.

I'm still not eating dairy. I bought Rice Dream (which, if you will notice, rhymes with ice cream) to see if it would quench my desire for real ice cream. Let's just say that I gave each boy a "scoop" (it doesn't scoop; it just flakes out of the carton) drenched in chocolate, strawberry, AND butterscotch sauces, and they wouldn't eat it. Then I made the mistake of letting it "melt" on the counter, and it turned into this goopy, chunky, throw-up looking mess. Note to self: never purchase Rice Dream again. However, Tofutti Cuties are actually very delicious.

Survivor starts tomorrow. Glee starts next week. And I can finally watch Arrested Development season 2 on Netflix instant because my stupid internet is working again. Ahhh, life is complete.

Au revoir, mes amis!

Positive thoughts are now being sent towards NYC. And negative thoughts are being sent to ever gross scorpion out there. Hate those things.

I have to empty out my DVR in preparation fir the new seasons! While I was in AZ with my kids this summer my husband filled it with about a million movies. He hasn't watched any if them. :P

Your description of melted Rice dream may have ruined my lunch. Yum!

Isn't that how it always is, when we actually have time things don't work.
Will keep your family in New York in my prayers.

My friend has a great non-dairy recipe for some type of ice cream. If you'd like it shoot me an email.

And WAY scary on the scorpion!!

There would probably be a serious break down in our house if our internet was down that long. I would not want to be on the other end of the phone when my husband got done with the customer service people and he is not confrontational!

I thought the SO ice cream, made with coconut milk, was an acceptable substitute. But I was also desperate.
Hooray for Arrested! It helps me go to sleep at night now.

Ewww, a scorpion, how nasty!! And scary! I've never had rice dream, thanks for the heads up! But I do love Almond milk, have you had that yet? I drink that and never rice dream.

This post made me curious and I went and peeked at my blog. Apparently my last post was my 888th. Too spiffy!

I'm really debating whether or not to fire up our basic cable and try to watch some shows this next season. We generally watch everything on DVD so we're not tied to a schedule for our evenings, and can watch a season all in one go. But it sure is tempting!

Glee!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Watched the season finale tonight and am SSOOO excited!!!!!

Yuck DOUBLE yuck about the scorpion. Sorry you're still off of dairy. Just look at it this way: you're missing out on TONS of calories by not eating ice cream. Kinda makes me wish I had to go off dairy...

but not really. =D

I didn't scorpions were in southern Utah. We used to get them all the time in our old house. They totally freaked me out!

Cannot wait for the new season of TV to start! Although we have found some shows that we normally wouldn't have found this summer that are really good - Burn Notice and White Collar.

What was going on in NYC? I hope nothing too scary! Obviously it's over now and everyone is fine but.. I can't say I'm not curious.

I would DIE without internet for 72 hours. Wow, what does that say about me? haha. But I feel your pain. :)

and the scorpion? I'm SO glad I never saw one while we were down there! I would have been up in Provo SO fast! Scary!
