Mom Jeans

Please don't hate me for this next sentence.

I now weigh six pounds less than I did before I got pregnant.
(I love breastfeeding for this exact reason!)

In fact, I weigh the same number that I weighed on my 21-year old driver's license.

A few weeks ago I bought two new pairs of jeans. What I didn't realize was that both pairs of jeans have some stretch to them, and by the end of the day they fall off of my waist. So, I did what any normal person would do - I pulled out my only belt. I haven't worn a belt in years (maybe since before I even had children?). And, to my dismay, I realized something terribly disturbing.Apparently the jeans I used to wear with this belt were Mom Jeans. I put this belt on my new low-waisted jeans and I couldn't even get the ends to touch. If you look carefully, you can see that I used to do the belt up on the second hole, which means my jeans used to run about 6 inches higher than these ones do.

(P.S. Don't forget that the camera adds about 10 lbs to your stomach/hip area.)

(P.P.S. My husband likes to tease me when I tell him my undergarments "fall up." It's because their waistline really does lay above my bellybutton. Does anyone else have this problem?)

I think you just need to walk around nude, of course.

Yes!!! I am super high-waisted and the Gs are always slipping up, up, up. So annoying.

I have the same problem as the last commentor. High waisted but jeans low = undergarments constantly riding high - UGH!

You look Great!!!! Super skinny!

Yes! I wish mom jeans would make a come back...

I do not weigh less than pre-pregnancy. Breastfeding does nothing for me there. But my garments always sit above the belly button and if I'm not careful, they'll give me muffin top. And I wear petite bottoms. Muchas annoying.

Your waist is enviable, my friend. Is it too late to return the jeans for a SMALLER size?

Umm, weighing less than I did before I got pregnant has never been my problem. I wish I had yours!

My big pregnant belly protrudes before me as I write this...

I can only hope and hope and dream that I can achieve such a feat post-pregnancy :)

I do not have this falling up problem even when I'm not pregnant. I'm not sure what that means. ha! ;)

I wish I had that belly! You look tiny!!! And yep, I know what you mean about "falling up"!!

The G's sitting high really bugs sometimes. Especially when you're wearing a light colored top that's form fitting and you can see the elastic waistband through it!! I constantly want to roll them down.

That is awesome! The weight thing, not the riding high thing, of course.

And it sounds like a most excellent excuse to go shopping. Which, okay, I know you hate, but with a friend? So much fun and laughter! Hope you get a little of that. =)

carinessa II is a lycra blend that is lower rise, and less saggy if you know what I mean. Check them out!

Back away from the mom jeans! Throw away the belt! EMbrace the low-riding jeans! I love them too.

You look awesome!

I like mid-rise jeans, I have a long torso so low rise just makes it hard to find shirts.

I'm jealous.

I understand your problem. Not the my jeans are too big for me problem, but the riding up problem.

What I can't stand is that I'm the same weight as before I had kids, but my belly didn't used to flab over my waistband. I guess I should get my heiny to the gym.

PS. I agree, you need to get the petite G's. Although you're not petite.....but seriously the regular ones have waistbands that go up to your ribcage!

YES!! In multiple ways. I like the non-petite, because it will actually hold my top DOWN... if it's not well and properly tucked, it's at my bra line by the end of the day. BUT, the high-waisted bottoms show through my clothes (you can see the band line). I hate it!! I still wear my pregnancy belly-band to solve the problem, almost every day.

Ps- You look hot!

I'm with Emmy. Can't handle anything low-rise at all.

And...I'm trying really, really hard not to hate you for the 6lbs less thing. Argh! Nursing does help me, but if you're eating a million calories a day, nothing helps you except STOPPING the madness. Blast.
I lost 25lbs pretty quick, but these last 10lbs are making me nuts.

You do look great!
