Today is November first. Do you know what that means?
It's my birthday month!
That means I can write about whatever frivolous thing(s) I want.
(Yes, I realize I can already write about whatever I want since it's my blog. But maybe I will actually write more often this month...)
I could write about how our fire alarm went off early this morning for no reason at all and freaked everyone out. But I won't.
Or I could write about how Aidan took the bowl of candy to the door last night for our first set of trick-or-treaters, two older boys, who grabbed every single piece of candy in the bowl and Aidan didn't know how to tell them only one, and he cried because he thought we would be mad at him. But I won't. (Even though we were livid at the mean older boys who took advantage of a little boy.)
I could write about how I have become obsessed (once again) with on-line ordering. It's so easy to click the little "finalize your order" button and have things shipped straight to my house! On a related note, did you know that Old Navy's tall pants come in a 36 inch inseam? That means they are long enough for me! Their velour pajama pants have become my new best friend. But oops, I wasn't going to write about that.
Nope, what I'm going to write about today is milk. I want to know:
If you could only choose between drinking skim milk or whole milk for the rest of forever, which would you choose?
I would definitely choose whole milk. Kaitlyn drinks it, and sometimes I sneak a sip or two of it, and it tastes so good! Who could drink that disgusting blue water??? Not me.

I could write about how much I love and miss you, but I won't/
I never cared for milk. At Ricks college my Personal Health and Fitness teacher explained how much better skim milk is for you (not sure how right he was about that) and challenged everyone in the class to drink skim milk for a week and see if we weren't converted. I thought skim milk was of the devil, but took the challenge. I was converted. I love skim and only skim. (still don't drink it just for a drink--without pancakes or baked goodies--but enjoy it with the right foods.)
That is why I so strongly dislike Halloween. What a bunch of jerks!! I'm so sorry for Aidan! I don't give candy to anyone taller than I am---and I'm as tall as any 13 year old:)
And I'd pick skim milk. I not a big milk fan---mostly just use it for cereal so I may as well save calories for other things instead of whole milk.
Skim all the way. When we got married, we came into the marriage with 2 different milk preferences. He eventually won out with skim. But I won on the toothpaste front- Crest.
I LOVE online ordering. Most of my Christmas shopping happened that way last year. I anticipate this year to be similar.
That is hard. I am a 1 or 2 percent girl. I usually try to stay with 1 percent because I figure it is just a little less fat, right?? I would probably go with whole as well because skim is NASTY. Just my humble opinion.
online ordering is soooooo much fun and so much less stress :)
i just love your blog... i am definitely a "follower: now!
I fully support your plan to do what you want for your birthday month!
And I hate milk unless it is in ice cream form.
Hee hee, funny. But what mean kids to take all the candy! Oh, I hate it when big kids suck.
I don't like either milks much (I use 1%) but if I had to choose, I'd definitely go for whole milk. Fat free milk is gross and really not that good for you - they're finding out more and more about now it's better to have a little fat in your dairy. Weird, but true. It helps make you feel full, plus, a lot of vitamins are fat soluble...OK I'll stop ranting about it.
I can do 1%, but not skim. Blech. And I just bought new jammie pants from Old Navy too. They are fuschia. Mark thinks I'm so weird but they are so comfy and I will never give them up!!
Happy birthday to us!! Those pj pants sound pretty comfortable. I'd go with whole milk too. It's delicious!
We had our smoke detector go off for no reason a month or so ago too. It was weird. And I would pick skim. But we buy our milk from a local dairy and it is the best milk you'll ever have. It's not like store skim...probably more between 1 or 2 percent.
Happy Birthday month!!!
On an unrelated note, I've been thinking for a long time about the post you wrote about bloggers being narcissistic. I can't find it now, but I don't think I agreed then. I want to retract my statement and agree full-heartedly:). It's true. We blog things and think people will want to read them!
I pick cheese.
I don't like milk, but since cheese is a milk product I pick cheese for the rest of forever.
Poor Aiden, rotten big kids. grr
Happy birthday month Erin!
It's my birthday month too! I actually didn't think about celebrating for the whole month 'til I saw your post and I think it's a great idea! I always hated whole milk because it always tasted warm to me, and it coated my mouth. Then I tasted whole fresh milk, like un-pasteurized, un-homogenized and it was soooo good! So, if I could drink that, I would choose whole milk. I used to date a guy who would buy whole milk and add water to make it last longer, saying it tasted like skim, and you know what, he was right. Blegh --it wasn't worth the 60 cents he may have saved.
Skim is definitely blue water!! I'd choose whole milk... But I actually like 2% the best.
I can drink skim milk, but I can't do it in my cereal. 1% at our house.
Old Navy really has 36 inseams? Awesome! (So does Maurice's, I just found out, if you didn't know that already.)
Anyway. Milk is gross. I don't drink any of it, but if I am forced to choose, I would choose skim. But, yuck.
I LOVE whole milk. I've been drinking much more of it than my toddler. My grandfather was a dairy farmer and we used to scrape the cream off the top of the milk and put it on raspberries--even better!
Happy birthday!
Love Old Navy's tall jeans! They are the only ones I wear because they are long, wonderfully, plenty long :)
And as much as I love to shop, I am finding that after baby #3 online shopping is so much easier...
As for milk 1% is what we drink here (except for my lactose intolerant kids, they get soy or almond milk and love it)
