A Bit of Everything

Hmmm, so much for posting as much as I want for my birthday month.  But hey, starting today it's my birthday week!  I resolve to post more often!  (Says the person who didn't keep any New Year resolutions this year.)

I figured I would free write (aka vomit the contents of my head) today.  But then I started realizing there are so many things I can't really write about.  For example:

I have a friend I'm really worried about.  Like, couldn't sleep last night worried.  But I can't write about that.

Something Big is happening this week.  Something with a capital S.  But I can't write about that either.

Someone I know is ill, but I can't write about that either.

So basically, I have a lot going on in my life and none of it is bloggable.  Oh, the frustration.

I wish I could have attended the Circling the Wagons conference in Salt Lake City last weekend.  Sometimes it's difficult living so close, yet so far away.

I worry about Kaitlyn being warm enough at night.  She won't keep a blanket on because she moves around so much in her crib.  Her room is also the coldest room in the house.  And we keep our heater at 63 at night (and 65 during the day - what do you keep yours on?).  Should I just not worry about her if she is sleeping at night (and when she wakes up her toes are cold)?

I have made a really good friend, thanks to blogging.  But ironically, I have also slowed down on blogging because I bounce so much off of her now.

It's snowing.  This is the first time EVER that I have dreaded the snow.  Like, really not looked forward to winter AT ALL.

I made soup-in-a-bun over the weekend from scratch.  I couldn't believe how easy the bread bowls were to make (I used this recipe).  So easy (using my bread maker for the dough) that I will be making soup very often this winter.

I just downloaded the She and Him Christmas album off of amazon because it was only $5.00 and Zooey Deschanel is so cute!  I have a very unhealthy obsession with Christmas music.

That's all for today's mind dump.  I might post tomorrow; I might not.  I am taking myself out to lunch every day this week.  It's my birthday week - I can do what I want.

Happy sigh.

Out to lunch every day? FUN!! Wish I could take you out one of the times!

I feel the same way about Spencer at night. We keep our thermostat at the exact same temperatures you do (I thought we were the only ones freezing ourselves out! :) I actually quite like it, but it would be nicer if there was wall-to-wall carptet.) Each night before bed I started playing a game with Spence, pulling the blanket down off of him and saying "Uh-oh!" and then he has to reach down and pull it back up over himself. He loves the game, but I don't think it actually translates to covering up during the night. I just check him right before I go to bed and make sure he's covered (and he's always wearing double layer pajamas (and a pair of socks, of course). He seems okay so I try not to worry too much about it.

I thought about you when I saw that Christmas album for sale. I'll shoot you a really really long e-mail (or even call - gasp) when I can but today and tomorrow I'm wrapping up everything for YW in Excellence. Just because I'm released doesn't mean I get to quit doing my job!! And I'll tell you all about my new calling. I'll just say that it's the one exact calling I've always ever wanted. Inspiration strikes our ward once again!!!

Okay, you've piqued my interest. Will you ever know what "Something Big" is?

Happy birthday week. Enjoy yourself, pamper and spoil yourself. And no fair feeling guilty.

Um, what rock have I been living under? I didn't know that Zooey Daschanel was in a band. I have always loved her voice. I am totally getting this album as soon as I get my amazon gc. Thanks for waking me up!

I love that you are taking yourself out to lunch everyday for you birthday. I did that for my actual birthday this year but next year I think I might take a page out of your book!

I hope everything works out for the best, whatever it is. I have a great friend who has been having a year of hell and she talks to me about a lot of stuff I can't tell anyone else. I know how it feels!

Happy Birthday Week!

I so totally understanding wanting to 'mind dump' but being unable to write about it because it involves the privacy of someone else! I am there hardcore right now. A family member is likely facing a terminal illness (at just 48) but I can't say anything about it on my blog or Facebook (though it helps to have vomited it here!)

I hope your situations resolve as favorably as possible.

Woo hoo, birthday week! I just did a post of a bunch of nothing and I was feeling like: Do people even read these or what? Then I read yours and thought it was great, and now I'm feeling better about mine.

I worry with every child at age 0-3yr if they're warm enough at night. They always kick off their blankets and wake up with cold feet. It's so sad. We keep our heater at about 67 at night and 68 in the day, though our current house is the WORST at holding in the heat, so I've had to crank it up a little more to maintain the feeling of 67. Ah, rentals.

Have a fantastic birthday week! I think it's great to savor your birthday. I never understand those who hate their birthdays. What?! Birthdays are the best!

OH, and I have a secret private blog for my journaly stuff that the whole world shouldn't necessarily know about. It's fun and just for me (my sisters are in on it, but not many more than that).

first I love that you love your birthday as much as I love mine! I look forward every year to see how you spend your birthday week.
second, we keep our house at 66 during the day and 62 at night, but we have a bonus of being downstairs and the kids upstairs so they can sleep warmer. We had to put extra socks under Nate and Ella's blanket sleepers to keep their feet a little warmer when they were little.
enjoy your lunches this week and sorry about all the stuff you can't share.

We keep our thermostat at 50 degrees at night. It feels way too hot if it's higher (I realize I'm strange!). As for the baby, blanket sleepers were invented for this very reason!
