Do any of you remember Book It, the program in elementary and middle school where if you read a certain amount, you would get a coupon for a free Pizza Hut personal pan pizza? And you were so excited to go get your very own pizza, you could hardly stand it? Well, the Ames Public Library has created a program similar to that. This year, it's called the Lasso a Good Book Reading Program. From Oct. 1 to Nov. 30, you have to go to the library four times and color in 20 horse heads, each representing 20 minutes of reading. My kids have been so excited about it they couldn't wait to read so they could color their horse heads, and they begged me to go to the library so they could get a stamp on their card. Today we finished filling in the cards! Here they are with their cards all colored:

That's way cool! Our library just gave them a bag of crap to play with (okay, so that sounds really nasty, but that was the best word I could use to describe what was in there), no free pizza out here in Tooele County, just a fake mustache and bookmarks. Oh well. Yea for your kids!!!
