Today, my kids watched WordWorld, a new show on PBS that is REALLY cool. It teaches kids how to read by making things in the shape of their words (for example, the letters "r-o-c-k-e-t" are shaped into a rocket; "n-e-s-t" is nest-shaped). The episode they watched today had two parts: Rocket to the Moon and The Birds. The bird one was about a little bird who fell out of a nest. Shortly after the episode finished, Aidan brought me his blanket and said, "I'm a little bird!" and snuggled right onto my lap and sat there for a few minutes while I snuggled him. Awww! He never does that! Then we went into their bedroom to play, and he put all of his favorite toys on the floor in a pile, put his blanket on top of them, and said, "This is my nest. I am a baby bird," and he snuggled up to his blanket on the floor. It was the cutest thing! I didn't get pictures...sorry, I'm sick right now and my mind isn't in top form. But if you have kids, watch WordWorld. My kids love it, and they are learning too.

Oh, we LOVE Word World here! That and SuperWhy are our regular morning shows. Ours was a re-run today though, the Shark one, but that one is cute too. That is so cute what Aidan did. I love shows that bring out the GOOD qualities in our kids!
I love Word World (yes me, although Zoe tolerates it as well)! James was pretty intrigued by it as well. It was the only show we could all tolerate on PBS kids for the few weeks we were without a DVD player (James hates Barney with a passion). It's a pretty cool concept. I like the little song they usually play in between the two "episodes." Wow, I'm a mom.
Ryan loves this show also. We were at walmart the other day and they had some of the Leap frog videos on clearane for $3.00. We got one that we didn't have and are going to give it to the kids for christmas. We actually ended up spending $55.00 and got 12 presents for the kids, really cool things like legos, little leaps learning system for 15.00, tj bearytales books, etc. It was so much fun, this should be our cheapest Christmas ever!
This show and Superwhy are my kids favorites on PBS. I constantly have the "lets build a word" song in my head....
Sounds like a great show.
