My iPod is a Dinosaur and Swimming at the Golf Course

Christian bought my iPod for me three years ago. In the world of technology, it is basically extinct. I'm mad about that! I downloaded three movie rentals, really excited to pass some time during the 16 hour drive watching fun movies such as Juno (which I have never seen, by the way). Then when I went to sync them last night onto my iPod, nothing happened. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. So I called my husband in to help, and an hour later, we learned/figured out/realized that I have an "iPod with video", which apparently doesn't support rentals. If I had purchased the movie, I could watch it during the drive. But since I just rented it, Juno will sit on my computer, taunting me as I drive away.

So, we leave is just a few hours. Will you miss me while I'm gone? I don't even know when I'll have internet access again. So have fun, post about it (the fun) on your blog, and I look forward to catching up when I get back!
P.S. It is a couple of hours later... We had major rain and thunderstorms last night. When Christian got to work this morning, he called and said I might be interested in seeing how high the river is. So I got in the car, brought my camera and found some interesting things:

Anyone want to play basketball? On a boat?
This is right across the busy street from the golf course. The river is 10-15 feet below the road usually; today it is maybe 3 feet below the road.
The golf course. Want to play golf, or just go swimming? (See the tee out there?)
This green is only partially in the water. If you're careful, you might not get wet.

We had flash flood watches and tornado watches last night, from 8:30 PM until 3:00 in the morning. The weather here is out of control! But alas, the weather in Cedar is supposed to be in the mid 90's this week. Why can't it ever just be 70 with a light breeze? And little to no humidity? Is there a place on earth like that?

It's like that in Wy for about a month out of the year.

Poor, wet Ames. Last year we took pictures of Brookside Park all flooded. Someone was flying a pirate's flag and having a picnic/bbq, sitting on the tables, and their buddy was canoe-ing around the park. It was hilarious.
But this flood looks even worse than last year! The weather there is nuts.

Yes that place does exist and it is called just about anywhere in Sonoma County, California which we left to come here to school. I hate summers here in Iowa. The humidity and heat combo kill me. The only place I can "cope" with that is in Hawaii! ;) Safe travels.

I think your ipod goes extinct when you buy them kinda like cars they keep getting better ones! I got my ipod, and two weeks later they got a better one, and for the same price:(
Looks like fun to play golf in the puddle!
