I have less than 10 minutes to post, so this will be really quick (more details later). Here's a funny story: Sunday we spent all afternoon and evening looking at houses in Cedar, and eliminating ones I knew I didn't want. We spent all day Monday looking at houses with our agent, with a small lunch break. Then we went back to the cheap, seedy motel and talked about all of our choices and decided which one we wanted to put an offer on. We ate Arby's and watched an episode of NCIS. Then we went to bed, exhausted. In the morning, we packed up all of our stuff so we could check out, but we couldn't find the key to the motel door. It was on the ground floor, right to the outside and our car. Christian opened the door and found the key -- inside the lock! We were practically begging murderers to come in and get us! We laughed about that for hours because we were so tired and it was apparently hysterical.
So, yesterday we: filled out all paperwork for Christian's job, set up life insurance, medical insurance, retirement, and all work related paperwork, talked to our lender and got all the paperwork done to get a loan, went and looked at the house we want again and went over it with a fine toothed comb, went back and wrote up an offer, got a phone call with a possible acceptance of the offer but with provisions, figured out which provisions we could accept and which ones we wouldn't, left a message with their agent, drove 4 1/2 hours back to Moab and picked up our children, and went back to the Red Cliffs Lodge exhausted. Whew!
So, no details right now because we don't know whether the offer will go through, but it is a 4 bedroom home just west of Cedar and it is beautiful! AND, when we called at 3:00 to make the offer, we found out that the sellers were at the hospital RIGHT THAT MINUTE to have a baby! But apparently the wife was prepping for a c-section because they called at 3:35 (35 minutes after the original offer) to make provisions on it. So then once we decided what we wanted and called back, it was 3:55 and the wife was actually having the baby right then. So their agent said we probably wouldn't hear until this morning. So, we had a busy day yesterday getting a job set up and possibly purchasing a house, but they were pretty busy too, having a baby and selling a house. Talk about crazy!!
Okay, I don't know when I will have internet access again so thank you for bearing with me as posts are spotty. I have taken pictures and have tons of cool stories, which will for sure begin when we get back home (we get home Sunday evening). Until then, keep your fingers crossed for us!
