Visit to Zions

This weekend we went to Zion's National Park...now that we live so close to all of these cool places, we purchased a year long national parks pass, so we can get into all of them for free (well, besides the $80 for the pass. But at 25 bucks a pop for Zions, the Grand Canyon, and the others, it's totally worth it.)

This is at Weeping Rock, where rain hitting the top of the sandstone takes around 800 years to hit the harder rock underneath, where it travels horizontally until it reaches the air and falls onto your head.
See?
Or you can be a party pooper like me, and stand in an area where you just get a couple of drops.

Next we went up to the Emerald Pools. Here, posing next to a cactus, or actually, some cacti (which Ethan picked up on quickly, but Aidan just said, "No Daddy, it cactuses."This was a fun rock the boys climbed all over. And they had lots of fun playing in the river.
We had fun, spending time together as a family and enjoying the beautiful scenery. We missed the mountains and cliffs while we were in Iowa!

Looks like you guys had lots of fun! I'm with the party poopers, not big on getting wet when not planned for. I wouldn't mind wading in the river though. Water is much better on your feet than head!

Emerald Pools was my favorite when we went in March. You guys are so so so lucky to live that close!

Looks like fun at zions. Hey ask your local WM if they will order some in they might just do that for you. I have had them ask for things before.

Zions is such a fun place. I know where there are some hyroglyphics in Zion's that are off of the beaten path if you ever want to see them.(guess what, the ancient Native Americans were perverts).

Zion is one of my super favorites. How lucky to be so close. Sometime you'll have to bring along a grandma, so you and Christian and hike Angel's. That one kicks my trash every time, but it's also my favorite.
