When I lived in Iowa, a friend told me about a cool book that was on clearance at Borders, and I went out and bought it. It's called "What Your Birthday Reveals About You." It's the kind of book you can have fun with at a party because every day of the year (aka your birthday) has a page describing you, based on your astrological sign, the alignment of the planets, and your "root number." I can't tell every one of you the information specific to your birth date, but I can give you a little taste of who you are based on your root number.
So, here is how you figure out your root number. It is your birth date only, the numbers added together until you have a single number. For example, my birthday is on the 13. 1+3=4. So my number is 4. Someone born on the 22 would also be a 4. Someone born on the 28: 2+8=10; 1+0=1. So their number would be a 1. Make sense? Your answer should be a single digit, 1 through 9.
Okay, now I'm going to give you a few sentences about your root number (each number actually has a whole page of description). We'll see how accurate (or ridiculous) your root number truly is.
Number 1 = Individuality. Ones are forthright leaders, pioneers, and fearless adventurers of society. Your dynamic, self-reliant personality prompts you to assume a leading role in all your endeavors. You express yourself through your own originality and creativity...Ones don't respond well to authority or the advice of others. Finesse is not your forte.
Number 2 = Duality. Twos are the partners and peacemakers of a society. Your sociable, courteous nature brings balance and harmony to all your interactions. A good listener and persuasive talker...You're usually the first to make up after an argument.
Number 3 = Exuberance. Threes are the friendly, the witty, and the charmers of society. You are a born entertainer with a cheerful, easygoing manner and a gift for gab that endears you to all kinds of people. Threes are generally multi-talented and sometimes have difficulty choosing among various career options. Naturally artistic and creative.
Number 4 = Stability. Fours are the workers and builders of society. Your vitality, sense of purpose, and will power keep you going long after others have run out of steam. Your outlook is traditional and you dislike upsetting changes. As a four, you're totally trustworthy and dependable and may be relied upon to follow through on your promises.
Number 5 = Freedom. Someone who is a five is a freewheeling adventurer who adapts readily to any situation. You have a genial personality and make friends easily. Because of your characteristic sociability, you rarely feel down or depressed. Your knack for coping with the unexpected gives you the confidence to try new things that are unusual and exciting.
Number 6 = Harmony. You strive for peace and harmony. Essentially an idealist, you're the original Good Samaritan. Sixes like to entertain and will spend lavishly for parties and other social affairs. They tend to be charming and attractive, with magnetic personalities that draw others to them.
Number 7 = Wisdom. The typical number seven is a truth-seeking intellectual with a decided knack for sizing up any situation in the blink of an eye. Other people may regard you as a geniune mystery, because your somewhat solitary nature is much given to private contemplation. You're actually happiest on your own.
Number 8 = Authority. Eight represents power and authority in the material world. It is the number of leadership, business acumen, tenacity, and hard work. Many number eights are wealthy and powerful. They are so dedicated to work that they are generally viewed as workaholics. They often experience deep feelings of loneliness.
Number 9 = Compassion. Nine is the number of universal receptivity and heightened awareness. You possess an extremely perceptive mind with intuitive powers bordering on the psychic. You understand the human condition, and in your work with others you are selfless and courageous. You refuse to tolerate injustice. However, you are also impatient and impulsive and often forget to think before you speak.
I am a four. And yep, it pretty much sums me up. Stable, dependable, trustworthy, faithful. Threes are so fun and charming; I'm wondering if the most popular bloggers are threes.
Now it's your turn - tell me what number you are, and if the description is dead-on or silly.

I am also a four and I completely agree with it! Thanks Erin
Well, as you know, I'm a two. Kinda fitting, isn't it?
I am a seven. Also, Happy Late Birthday!!
i'm a one, but i don't think it really fits me.....
I'm a six. Don't think it describes me that well.
I'm a six...I'm a six....WOOT WOOT!
..that's as lavish as the party part in me gets.
I'm a 4, I wouldn't say it's too accurate. Then again, I'm also a Leo, and it is also not so accurate.
The 4 does fit my daughter who is also a 4.
Otherwise, none of my family's numbers really seem to fit.
You're a closet ANTM fan! me too!!! (when the reruns are on vh1 thats all we watch for a couple of days)
oh and I'm a 9. its somewhat on.
I"m a #1. And I have no finesse! Once I got out of my truck and fell right on my butt. There was lots of flailing.
My birthday falls on the 10th so I am a Number 1 = Individuality.
I would have to say it dead on!
Thanks, this is fun.
I'm a 3, but I don't find it fitting. I think I'm a bit socially akward. I like having friends and chatting, but I have a hard time getting to know people. My husband is a 1 and that totally fits him.
I'm a four as well, and that describes me pretty well. Fun!
I am a 3. And I would say, according to what people tell me, it fits pretty well.
This is fun! Thanks!
im' supposedly a five, and it kinda seems to fit, but kinda not. maybe it fit better before the kiddos came along and sucked up all my energy. it does seem to describe the teenage, well rested me a little better than the sleep deprived frazzled one.
That is you all right. I can feel that.
I am a 3. I guess it is pretty right on. I just need to find some solid friends in my ward. I just am having a struggle with the new boundary changes. It will work out. I will charm them with my wit. Right. Joking. Thanks Erin.
I'm a 6. Everything fits except I'm not sure if I draw people to me;)
I am a three. I love to talk but I don't think I am an entertainer. This is a really neat thing.
IM a 9. I think thats me
I am an "8" and that is TOTALLY not me.
James, you WILL be wealthy one day. I'm sure of it. And you're not a workaholic, but you are an amazing song writer/singer.
It was dead-freaking-on!
I'm a 3.
That was fun... what more can you tell me about myself?
Ha! I'm an 8 and it is SO the opposite of me!
I'm a one, and parts of it seem pretty accurate, although I'm not very creative, and I actually solicit the advice of others quite often.
i am a 6...i think it is a good description. Weird.
I am a 7 and I guess it is semi-me but not so much!! I guess in some things I have wisdom--I don't know--I am baffled!!
3+1=4!
It's mostly true, but I like to think of myself as not boring...
I'm a 5 and it seems to fit! What a fun book!
I'm an eight, and am completely the opposite.
I'm a 2, and I'd sure like to think I'm that number 2. It's right in many ways, I wouldn't call myself a peacemaker, but the rest seems about right.
according to this, I am a 7 -- but I don't think it fits me at all. Fun to look at though.
I'm a 3. I'm not so sure about the exuberance thing. I think I tend to be a little introverted. As for the rest of the stuff, I really don't know. I guess that those that know should be the ones to answer that. I don't think I'm very good at anything.
classic 3 here!
3. And some of that is familiar, but I'm not a most popular blogger, and most of the social things are wrong. I do have a gift for gab, but I think that may actually annoy a lot of folks.
I love hearing about myself! Too much fun!
I'm a six. I think it's a pretty good description... but then it would also have to say that I'm full of myself. Am I allowed to say I'm attractive?!
I'm a 4 and it is pretty close!
I felt it was totally accurate (like they were thinking of me when they wrote it) but it is so complimentary that I hate to say which number. (but I loved reading it!)
Actually, there was some negative remarks for my number but I have no patience for that kind of thing so I impulsively ignored it.
tag, your it! (taylor blog)
I'm a 1, I don't know if it fits. Jake is a 5 and it's definitely off for him!
I'm also a 4. Yup, I think it pretty much sums me up. I wonder about your hypothesis on three's and popular bloggers. Would be interesting to see what they all are.
THanks for coming by my blog, I've seen you around on the comments sections.
I'm either a 2 or a 3 depending on who you ask. My Mom has always told me my birthday was on the 29 th, but when I met my birth mother she told me I was born on the 30 th, so I'm not sure if it's accurate or not.
I am a 4 as well and it totally fits! Rock on with your trustworthy self!
well, my description is just ok, but what is hilarious is my husbands! ummmm....so. not. him. at all.
He has a heart of darkness, the original Colonel Kurtz...NOT the original good Samaritan ( although he would like you to think he is.) LOL
That must be a fun book t have!
I'm a four, just like you.
I am a five and it doesn't fit me. I so wanted to fit in too! :)
Number 2 = Duality. Twos are the partners and peacemakers of a society. Your sociable, courteous nature brings balance and harmony to all your interactions. A good listener and persuasive talker...You're usually the first to make up after an argument.
Not accurate AT ALL.
Not courteous.
Not harmonious.
Not a good listener.
A good talker though ;)
I'm a 2.. not so sure about the first to make up after an arguement part but I'll make sure to tell Justin that part! ha ha
I'm a 4 too :)
