Bloggy Luncheon?

I've got all of these great blog ideas swirling around in my head, but I haven't had time to sit down and write them (or, more truthfully, the energy to write them when I have the time).

So, I just have a question for today. I will be in Salt Lake on Saturday, July 11. Would anyone be interested in meeting me for lunch? I have a couple of hours around noonish or oneish that I could hang out, eat, and embarrass myself have fun. Being as how I'm not from Salt Lake, I wouldn't know where to go. If you might be interested, let me know in the comments - should we do north Salt Lake or south Salt Lake? Or the buffalo burger at Cabela's? (Hah! That's just where my husband will be shopping.) Or should I just fulfill my cravings as usual and say Costa Vida? (P.S. I had my pork nachos for lunch yesterday. And they were goooooood.) (Edited to add: Obviously since I will be driving north I could also potentially do Provo or anywhere north of it. Just let me know!)

And just so I don't sound like my life is always perfect (because I promise you, it isn't), I will tell you that yesterday was a high anxiety day. I frequently have high anxiety. This episode was over feeling like I have too much going on in my life. Too many activities, not enough down time. And we only have like five things scheduled in the next month! I don't know what I'm going to do as my kids get older and have more things going on. After talking to Christian and eating a healthy dose of 7 layer bars, I felt much better.

Have a great weekend everybody!

P.S. I saw this great tweet and I had to share it (original with cursing found here):
"Heeeeeeeeeere's Farrahhhhhh!"
"Heeeeeeeeeere's Michaellllll!"
God: "D----- Ed. Cut it out."

To three great icons: We'll miss you.

Neil and I were talking last night about what a strange pair Farrah and Michael are to show up at the Pearly Gates at the same time. Who would have thought? I pulled out my MJ cds last night to put in the car. He is one of my kids' favorites.

If we weren't going to be in Yellowstone that week I'd totally love to meet you! Even though I'm new...does that make me a freaky stalker? ;)

Me (aka Danielle) said...

Umm...ME! I will eat lunch with you! My kids love Cabelas!!!

heather said...

Maybe. I could SO get my Hubby to Cabelas. Plus I wouldn't have to drive half so far.

OR Thanksgiving point is right across from Cabelas and they've got a really good veggie sandwich. ;)

I would love too! My daughters b-day is on the 12th, which is a Sunday so we are celebrating it on the 11th. dang it. I never get to go to a bloggy lunch. #$%#$%#$%#$$@#$@#@#&&(^&%^(me throwing a fit).

Aw! That sounds like fun. Hope you have a great turn out!

Yes, even though I'm not allowed to go out to eat. I feel bad because I missed the last one due to a research paper!

Sometimes I have anxiety about too many things going on too. Then I think about it and am like " I was only gone one day this week."

I'd love to meet you for lunch. I've never eaten (or been) to Cabela's but it's close to my house. Keep us posted!

I'm going to rsvp a big fat maybe (yes, i know i'm a dork). I've been trying to get down to az for a month now and i think that weekend may just be the weekend that we make it (family reunion). but if for some reason the universe STILL doesn't want us to be there yet, i'm totally up for a lunch date. I'll need one to make up for not getting to see two new nieces yet. would love to meet you, will keep you posted.

why is it that i'm always the one writing essays in other people's comments? i should learn to get my point across faster.

I would eat lunch with you anyday. Just name the place and time and I will make every attempt to come :)

Annette Lyon said...

Dang. I'm sorta kinda committed to another bloggy lunch that same day. Maybe we can combine them?

The other one is Crash's at Provo's Olive Garden.

I won't be able to make it, as I'll have a tiny baby (which is a bummer, because I'd love to see you!) Go somewhere charming and delicious. If you like Italian, there's Cafe Trio or even better, Michelangelo's.
There's super ridiculous Mexican, like Red Iguana. There's Market Street Grill (kind of pricey, but delish), or Gepetto's. I've heard good things about the Porcupine Grill, and up Emigration Canyon is Ruth's, which is awesome. Salt Lake is full of wonderful food! I hope you have fun - wish I could be there.

I would love to see you again, Erin! I'm up for lunch, though to be honest, closer to Provo would be more convenient for me.

I can SO make it!! WHOO HOO!! Tell me when and where and I will be there!! WHOO HOO!!

I'm sorry about the anxiety. It's terrible. If the 7 layer bars help, I just might have to try them myself.

I would absolutely love to attend a bloggy luncheon. I'm not good for suggestions on where to go. I'm not terribly worldly, but I'll eat anything.

I hate living hundreds of miles away! Grrr. When I was down there in April we went to Pizza 712. SO good.

Oh I;d love to meet for lunch! For me the later, and most south you can get, is the better.
You could ask Kristina for ideas too, she has had huge turnouts...

Hope today is calm and beautiful for you!

Oh no! Like Annette, I am going to Crash Test Dummy's lunch that day @ 1 in Provo. I would meet for breakfast though! :)

Depending on time and location, I could be in.

Keep us posted. Count me as a maybe.

And 7 layer bars? Intriguing.......

You know I would be down for getting together, but that weekend (and the weeks surrounding it) we'll be in California. Or Oregon. But definitely NOT Utah. Have fun!

Ahhh! I'd love to see you Erin! Even though I know you so it's not the bloggy world, but I'd love to do lunch! I'll have to see if that day works for Dillon--he'd love to go to Cabela's if he wants to come along for the ride.

I've got a Costa Vida frequent whatever card right here - maybe 40 points on it? Want it? E-mail me and let me know where to send it. I'll put you that much closer to a free pork nachos. ;)

p.s. Cabela's has some yummy food and killer onion rings. :)

I want to know more about these 7 layer bars....

I hate that I can't come. I miss out on all the cool luncheons!
Plus, that's my birthday! July 11th.

That tweet made me laugh out loud so hard.

If it makes you feel better, I have a lot of high anxiety days. And I won't lie and say it gets better when the kids get older, cause it doesn't but a least they can do a few more things for themselves so you at least have a chance to breathe!
Let me know about lunch. I'll see what I can do.

I'm in Erin! I've never eaten at Cabella's, but will-It's close to me. Also agree that the Deli @ Thanksgiving point has yummy sandwiches/salads.

I would SO be there but we have a wedding that day up in Bountiful with a Luncheon after wards. And if we weren't going to that wedding we would probably be out of town because it's our 16th anniversary the day before. But let me know if you do this again and I will fo' sho' try to be there.

I'm game. I'm not going to Crash's dealio... and SLC would be better for me. I could probably even get Sherri to come with me...

Elisa said...

sorry about the anxiety... i get it to. Totally blows!

anxiety is my friend. :)

I hope you had bloggy fun. I'll be pretending I'm there, but really I'm in Minnesota...

As Told By Molly said...

I wish I were in the area. My husband would probably drive me up there right now if I promised he could shop Cabelas, too. You can't go wrong with Costa Vida or Cafe Rio (no loyalty to either because I love them both).

I can't make it on the 11th, but did you still want to meet for lunch on the 1st in Cedar?

Fiauna said...

That tweet was so bad it was good. ; )

I'd totally love to do lunch, but can't give a firm answer yet (my 14th anniversary is that week and I'm hoping hubby has some plans). For me, the further north you go, the better.

Oh Fooo! I go to Provo every Saturday and sell bows at the Farmer's Market but I don't get done till 3pm! I will miss it!! Sooooooooooooo sad! I live 2.5 hours from SLC but if you do another...do it on Saturday for din-din and I'll TOTALLY be there!!! How fun and I can't wait to see pics of the event!

Jen said...

Erin that would be such a blast! Make me a big fat maybe! I'll know a little more after this weekend! I'd love to meet up again.

Sher said...

I'm definitely in! And I think you should the North end, since that's closer to me.
I'd love to be able to actually sit and chat with you, since last time we hardly got to talk at all.

Let me know when and where and I'm there!!
