Random Ramblings

While Christian's stepmom was here visiting, she suggested Costa Vida. It didn't end up happening. But now, I am absolutely craving their pork nachos, and I will not rest until I get them.

If I fell into every craving I have, we would be bankrupt. Seriously.

Christian passed his test! Cue the Hallelujah Chorus. (For the record, I knew he would pass.) He is now a licensed psychologist. Woo hoo!!!

My dear friend Christie has an 11 question quiz/poll on her sidebar. She really wants people's opinions on how they perceive themselves physically. Click here to take the quiz. She is giving away one of her cool products from her Lemon Squeezy Etsy shop just for taking the quiz. I would love to know the results of these questions, so go participate!

Here's the story about my piano students: In March, I had one student. Then right before I went to France, I went to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned. The dental hygienist was asking me small talk questions, and I told her I taught piano. Her ears perked up, and she asked if I had openings. I told her I had a few, but didn't want to pick up any more students until after I went to France. So she took my phone number, and called me just a few days after I got home and asked me if I would teach two of her children. Then the next week, her across-the-street neighbor called to ask if I would take her child. Then the week after that, her around-the-corner neighbor called to see if I would take two of her children. Now, I have eight students, five boys and three girls, and my studio is full. My kids watch movies while I teach, and I wouldn't feel good about taking on any more students. I sure do love teaching though!

Did I mention Christian passed his test? Cartwheels and chocolate! Yippee! No more studying! No more supervision! He's in the big league now!

Can you tell we are a little excited around here?

That's great news-- congrats to Christian! And I wish you could give ME piano lessons. I've always wished I would have practiced when i was eight. As it stands, I have no musical talent whatsoever.

Congrats!!! That is so awesome! I have a bachelors in psychology but never went further than that.
I wish I knew how to play the piano better, I took a couple of years of piano but then quit as I was also taking flute lessons.. but I hardly play my flute anymore.

I slicked over and took Christie's quiz.

If I lived closer to you, I would be calling you all the time to beg you to teach my children how to play the piano.

Uhhh...I meant to say I clicked over. I hate it when I make typos.

I wish I could get students like that! I kind of miss teaching since I haven't done it in a year but I wasn't able to find any before Rick got laid off and I don't think I could do it while I worked full time. So yay for you! I wish you guys could have come to reunion. Maybe next time (hint, hint, nudge, nudge)?

Congrats Christian for passing the test. That is the greatest feeling ever, knowing you studied for something and then acheiving the goal. Way to go on the piano students-they'll keep you buys but it's good busy.

Thank you Erin! You are a great friend--I know I will get WAY more votes now that you posted about it (seriously, you have the most followers of anyone I know personally, so I really do appreciate it so much--thank you!). Hooray for Christian! That is so neat, and also for all the students! That is a lot! Extra money is always good...now you can give into more cravings, right? ;)

I may have been to Costa Vida once a week since it opened right next to my house.

Do you feel like you're being analyzed every time you talk to your hubby? Just wondering.

Congratulations to Christian (and you)!

Eight students is a lot. Good luck! Sometimes I wish I taught piano because it's easier to find students, but I just don't love it enough. :) I'm glad you do!
