The Cliff Notes Version Cuz I'm Lazy

You know when so much happens during a vacation that the thought of blogging about it just makes you tired? Here it is in shorthand:

-Went and saw at least 20 California Condors at Kolob reservoir (it was awesome! Check our private blog for one of the reasons why)
-Shopping and Pioneer Park in St. George
-Drove up Kolob Canyon
-Played a musical number at church
-Watched two movies in the theater in one day (this one and this one)
-Food, food, dessert, and more food (Do you think I could do restaurant reviews on my blog and someone would pay me to eat at restaurants? Because I'm pretty sure I would be excellent at it.)
-Stayed at a hotel
-Lots of shopping
-Car shopping (but NOT car purchasing)
-Took a drive out to a breathtaking place

If you only click on one thing, click on the last "food" link. (To.die.for. Christian said it was the best Reuben sandwich he has ever eaten. It IS a restaurant that was featured in the Oprah magazine, and you know, everything Oprah says/does is gospel. (ha) But really, the crème brulée was so good it made me want to cry.)

My favorite quote of the weekend was by Christian: "This (king size) bed is so huge I can't even reach my drink on the nightstand." One day we'll get a king size bed...

Oh, and when I got home there were 427 unread posts in my reader. I marked all as read (sorry!). And tomorrow is my teach-piano-all-day-ignore-the-computer day. Sorry again! Summer sure is exciting and busy, isn't it?
(If you click on this last image to enlarge it, you will see 12 condors flying around. We laughed so hard when we saw 8 condors flying around a herd of cows, just waiting for one of them to kick the bucket. Condors are vultures, you know.)

Fun, fun! BTW, I can't wait to get my king sized bed! But I think it's gonna hafta wait to come with the new house (one day)!! Missed you!

I've already waxed poetic about my king size.

And I will definitely eat there next time!

I love birds, even the "ugly" condors. Thanks for posting pics of them. As for King Size beds... I am a fan and we finally "built" one this spring, with Memory Foam Mattress from Costco. I never want to get up, that's the only problem with it.

Awesome pictures! Glad you had fun. I am still yet to see the Star Trek movie :( hopefully this weekend.
Welcome back to the blogging world!

sweet trip! My husband loves him a good Rueben, and I love me a great creme brulee, so sounds like a restaurant made just for us!

C-O-O-L! I didn't know you were teaching piano again. How many students do you have?

I'm glad you had a great time! Close to home vacations are tons of fun (with less kid fights in the car). I wish you were close to me, we're in the market for a piano teacher.

Everyone is busy in the summer so no biggie if you can't read a gazillion posts. I don't even try to keep up, just read/write when I can.

I'm in the same boat -- to tired to blog. But not stalk/comment. Sounds like you had a blast!!!!!

p.s. look into the reviews of the restaurants. that would be the best job ever.

Oh, I totally forgot about Tuacahn!! All these years of going to southern Utah, and I still have never been there!

Don't you just love St. George?? At about 15, I decided I wanted to live there. Funny how I met a man who was born and raised there! (Coincidence? Doubt it!!)

Don't you love taking vacations close to home! It makes travel time so much nicer. Hope the rest of the summer goes as well!

Sounds like one busy busy weekend!

I have to say..I don't think I would have stood around to watch the condors fly over head, what if I stood still and they assumed I was dead? ;)

The condors sound fascinating. Don't worry about skipping a few posts. I did that too.

I want to be a food writer too. We should tag team it. That would be an interesting new spin on it, and maybe someone would pick us up and then we could not only be food bloggers, but food columnists.

Dream job!!

Sounds like the trip was fab!

Glad you had a good time!

I've been working on a backlog of around 100 posts in Reader for several days and I'm no where near success (every time I trim it back, it grows.) I'm going to have to mark all as read any moment now.

The Painted Pony rang a bell and I did a Google Image Search and I'm almost positive I ate there once with my husband -- but I remember my reaction as "meh." Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. Or maybe I had morning sickness at the time.

Didn't I say you'd love the Painted Pony! Hurray! I'm glad you had a fun adventure. Did you catch a show at Tuacahn or just visit? Such a beautiful spot. Welcome back to real life- kids, work, dishes, etc.

I remember the day that I saw two movies in one day.
We came out of the theatre and went eh, why not?

How were the movies?

Hey, just stopped on by because I loved the name of your blog. How true.

What a great trip! And sadly, Oprah is right more times than I like to give her credit for, but I'd never admit that.

Also I liked your question from last week; my husband is my best friend. Hands down. I have other girl friends, some from as far back as high school, and they're fun to go out to lunch with and hang out, but I will always want our time to come to an end so that I can go back to hanging out with my husband instead.

Looks like a fun vacation was had by all. The pics were great and I love that the best part was the restaurant. I love to eat out too and try new places:)

Glad you had a great trip and what cool pictures of the condors! I love close trips to home. Usually the last places we visit are those very things that make our state interesting! Like, I've never been to Zions National Park! Wha? I need to do more close-to-home trips.

Just SO said...

That is so cool about the condors! I'm glad that you and Christian were able to have some time away. It makes such a difference.

It was great to talk to you even for a short bit! Next time I'll ask if it's a good time for you to talk before jumping right into a conversation :)
