Question For the Day

What do you do to pamper yourself?
Manicures, pedicures, massages, purchase clothing or makeup, sleep in?

I don't do any of those things. What I do to pamper myself is eat out at restaurants. Nearly all of my fun money every month is spent at restaurants. I love love love good food, as if you couldn't tell because practically all of my blog posts talk about food (sorry my blog makes you hungry Anne-Marie!) So what helps you feel pampered?

three words: Deep Tissue Massage!
My favorite. We have someone who comes to our house. I hope that lasts forever. And we have an Aveda Institute here that does a great facial for $25.00.

definitely food. And sleeping in.

I love good food too! I don't like to sleep in, but being able to read in bed when I first wake up--that's wonderful!

Restaurants for sure! All the time, every week. And an occasional pedicure.

Interesting question, I should consider some of those things pampering, but I sorta feel like the ones I indulge in are just plain maintenance.

A night away with the hubby, would be my pampering....

Food and sometimes new clothes but not very often.

I love to eat out too. No cooking, no clean up, my Diet Coke is magically refilled..............

Oh-if I COULD sleep in that'd be it. As sad as it is, sometimes I pamper myself with my current obsession---teriyaki jerky. I can't get enough of it...and I'm pretty sure that's not a good thing.

New clothes, but never anything very fancy.

Eating out.

Pedicures. I only get them during the summer.

A comfy bed with soft and worn sheets.

Hot lunches during the school year for the kids.

Dolls and fabric.

I love massages, I usually only get one a year but I would happily get one monthly. I also love food, especially sushi.
And sleeping in.. yeah that doesn't happen.

Oh, man! All of the above.

I get regular pedicures, and I do sleep in a lot. But we eat out a lot too.

Me (aka Danielle) said...

Umm..all of the above! One of my luxories is getting my nails and hair done regularly though!

Anytime I have to myself without work, kids or husbands tugging on me for a moment is luxury. People wonder why I don't sleep at night when it is my nights off. That's because I get ME TIME! That is the best for sure.

I so love to eat out, too! A definite weakness. I'm an emotional eater and love my food! But I also enjoy a hot bath with a good read--a much cheaper alternative.

ohhhh....how about all of the above?!

I agree with you, I eat out! But my husband has always pampered me with feet rubs and manicures, he does a great job!

I love to eat out too. But I often sleep in and love to take hot baths. My hubby takes care of my pedicures...I guess I pamper myself a lot!

Definitely eating out...no prep work...no dishes...it's the best. Some occasional shopping is pretty fun too.

All of the above?

Usually I have a GC for the pedicures and massages, or I wouldn't get them (I have one of each waiting for me right now!).

Sleeping in is free, though. You should try it. :)

hmmmm, I was thinking "I don't do any of those things, I guess I suck at pampering" and then you said "eat out"...except that I don't consider McDonalds exactly pampering. hmmm. I think I need to get better at pampering.

I eat out too, except, my butt pays the price. poor little butt!

you eat out, and how do you stay sooo skinny?! Secrets, do tell!

I read. I make my husband take the kids somewhere, so I can have my comfy couch, and I just read until they get back! I never have time to read more than two paragraphs (or verses) of anything EVER, so it's a real luxury when I can.

Yes, I love to eat out. I like doing lunch with friends as a pampering kind of thing.

Pedicures, massages, getting my clothes tailored so the fit is just perfect. :)

Just free time in general. Time that I don't have to be accountable for. So usually sleeping, reading, or doing nothing particularly productive on the computer and not feeling guilty for it. I'm pretty low maintenance.

Everything you mentioned IN your blog AND food!

Jen said...

Sleeping in, reading and eating out are my favorites.

I'm with Lara...All of the above. But, manis/pedis & massages are very rare because they feel extravagant to me.

Retail therapy & sleeping in. And eating out for sure.

(Yes, Erin...You're blog makes me hungry. Hence Costa Vida last week)

mani's pedi's new hairstyles, new clothes, alone time with the hubby!!!
ALL ARE NICE!

But the very best relaxing time for me is time in a hot tub. Some day I will have one in my house. I love those warm hot bubbles!

In the meanttime my regular bath will have to do!

At the end of the day, when all the work is done that I can get done (it never is ALL done) then I love to snuggle with my kiddies and watch a good movie, and eat popcorn or maybe make some home made brownies. That's how I feel pampered!
:~D

I am not a spa girl, but like you, I LOVE restaurants. Out budget totally doesn't allow it much anymore, so I crave and long for a restaurant meal all the time; a real treat when it happens. And I also love a nap. Naps turn me into a whole new woman, as long as I get to wake up on my own.

I exercise.
Is it crazy that exercising is like my pampering?

I do love eating out at yummy restaurants. We actually talked about your love of lemon blueberry scones from The Cafe last Saturday during our breakfast club. We decided that trying to mail you one wouldn't work out too well:(

Every other month I get my hair washed and cut at a salon. I get THE BEST scalp massage-I just melt... And I get my brows waxed and then my eyes look more awake even if I don't feel that way:)

I'd love a massage or a pedicure but I can't splurge like that. I do have birthday money waiting to be used, so maybe...

I haven't had a manicure since I went to Prom, I have only had 2 pedicures in my life and 3 massages I think (christmas presents from my mom a few years in a row), I'm not a big make up person. I sometimes get to sleep in so thats fun.

I think I'd have to say going out to eat or having a few hours (in the middle of the day when I'm supposed to be 'on' with my kids) all to myself and have someone else be responsible.

For me pampering involves one of two things. An uninterrupted bubble bath and full leg shave (such a delight) or a stack of new books. Mmm....

I pamper myself with a trip to Borders because I am a huge book nerd! lol! A pedicure is nice too:)

shopping. for sure. too bad it costs money.

I also indulge regularly in reality tv to pamper myself. Ü
