Last week's goal For Just One Week was to clean both of my bathrooms, top to bottom. I accomplished 90% of that goal. I did everything (including the floors and baseboards) except for my bathtub. My husband walked in and said, "Wow, it looks like a hotel bathroom in here." I said, "Good. Don't open the shower curtain." But making it a goal was definitely a good motivator for me.
This week's goal, like I said before, is a doozy (for me, anyway). For Just One Week,
I am only going to blog when both of my children are at school or asleep. In reality, what this means is that I am going to be more present with Aidan when we are hanging out together all afternoon until Ethan gets home from school. In practicality, what this means is that after working out and showering, I will have approximately one hour during the day to read any and all blogs in my reader, and in the evenings if Christian and I aren't
watching tv until our eyeballs fall out of our heads spending quality time together. Which means you won't see much of me in the blogosphere! Know that I will be reading, just not commenting. And yes, this is very hard for me. But I want to play Uno and dominoes and bingo and read books and play with playdoh and squirt the rocks outside with spray bottles without wondering in the back of my mind who may have just posted, or who may have e-mailed me. So wish me luck!
And I'm trying this McLinky thing, so if you want to post about a FJ1W goal on your blog and link up, I promise I will click over and comment in the precious blog time I have this week!

This is on of the reasons I am not blogging as much. O is my last child and the time I have with her is precious.
And that is the most important! Good job on your goals.. Oh you rock lady!
ps to linking up for me this week, my child took over my blog this week, but I will next.
Good job on the clean bathroom!
And good job on the new goal. It's one I've been doing as well, for lots of reasons. It's been nice.
I love your FJ1W posts! As soon as this baby's born, I'll start linking up too...for right now, the only thing I can do is focus on NOT going bananas from being OVERdue...
Oh, this is a good one. It's been weird for me to realize that there is life without blogging. I'm happy to be getting back into it a little, but Aaron is just the age he needs me to be teaching him EVERYTHING and I can't do that if I'm on the computer all the time.
Good luck to you this week! I really love your FJ1W! When I feel less self pity and more ready to DO stuff I hope to join you!
That's what I did this weekend. I still read blogs, but not as much. Adam and I played games last night, and went out and spent a lot of time together on Saturday.
Not having kids, and having a husband who is gone a lot, definitely makes it easier for me to blog.
Good for you---on getting last weeks' goal done and for this weeks':)
My goal this week is to actually FOLD my laundry once it's cleaned instead of just letting it live in the basket.
I like your goals. little one. I maybe could do that.
My goal this week, is to find a cheap maid.
Definitely an AWESOME FJ1W for this week! And good job on the bathroom.
I hope you make a LITTLE time for private blogs this week. :)
Good luck this week. That would be a toughie for me!
Even 90% clean is quite an accomplishment. Good for you!
Oh that is such a good one. My plan is to spend every Thursday every week to just really play with the kids, think ahead/plan creative things.
And then every Tuesday I will post what we did last week.. hold me accountable that way.
You're so smart. I think it is so easy to get sucked into the blog world and put your family on the back burner. That's why I have taken a very extended blogging break. It has been nice to not have to worry about it. Enjoy your week!
That being present thing is so tough. I try every day. I hope you can do it for just one week.
I love these posts because I get so many good ideas. I think I'm going to have to copy Barbaloot and actually fold my laundry this week...no more piles of clean clothes in my bedroom. I hope!
That is a hard one but your child is going to have such fun with just you! Good luck with your new goal.
First- try 'Barkeepers Friend' on your bathtub. It works amazingly well. It's cheap and gets EVERYTHING off.
Secondly- that's a good goal. I'm making it a little goal to be more present with my kids this week too- which will be easy since we're doing a quickie vacation. I like easy goals. Good luck with yours!
Just trying using a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser on your bath tub. It makes cleaning SO easy.
We'll miss you!
Thats a Great Goal and most important. We will all understand and will miss you! Good Job on your bathroom goal! I should probably make that mine... in order to have my hubby make a comment like yours did :)
Good for you Erin. I've been reducing my computer/blogging time alot lately too. Priorities, right?
Good job on your blogging goal. My youngest was 9 when I discovered blogging, and I was already back working, so I usually blogged when they were sleeping pr it was an early morning.
90% on the bathrooms? My hero!
I love the idea of FJ1W. I'm gonna have to join in...
Good for you!!
I just love this whole for just one week concept! Such a great way to find out what you're capable of, and what matters most! Good luck this week!
