Chuck: I recently started watching this show, when I had two friends on facebook (Julie and Kate) write statuses that constantly talked about how much they loved this show. So, I started borrowing the dvds from Netflix, and it really is a cute show. My husband likes to tease that it is a wannabe bad show, but compared to real "bad" shows, it is like watching the circus. I just want Chuck and Sarah to kiss already.
Life Unexpected: This is a new show on the CW (keep in mind that I don't have cable - I only have the freebie channels you get on digital antenna) that I watch every week with a girlfriend (hi Jen!). It's about a girl who gets put up for adoption, and unfortunately never gets adopted, and through a series of circumstances gets brought back into her birth parents' lives. And it's cute. CW cute. You know how CW is...
NCIS: My husband and I have been watching this forever. While we love Ziva, we have a fond place in our hearts for Kate from seasons 1 & 2. And Christian really likes Abby. I wish I could pull off the goth look, but alas, I can't. When are Ziva and Tony gonna kiss?
LOST: We had a marathon of watching this show a year or so ago, catching up on all of the seasons in a matter of weeks. While we are invested, and are excited to see how things turn out, my husband keeps saying, "I am so glad when this dumb show will be over." Amen. It's interesting and frustrating at the same time. (Although I have to admit that I love reading some of the LOST blogs the day after each episode to learn how they interpret things that I missed altogether. My favorites are here and here.)
Dinosaur Train: Wait, how'd that get in there? Oh yeah, it's Aidan's favorite show. (It's about dinosaurs and trains. It doesn't get any better than that.)
Modern Family: This is one show that both my husband and I love. It makes us laugh out loud frequently. Watching Phil act like he's cool, but in reality being a complete dork, is hilarious. Our favorite is Cameron. He plays his part with such flair. If you aren't watching this show, start.
Survivor: I have watched this show for years. I think I missed the first five or seven seasons, but since they are on season 20 I have seen the majority of them. This is my favorite season by far. I actually squealed when I saw a commercial for it, right before the season started (I am not a squealer). I am so tired of Amanda's doe eyes. I love how Boston Rob has become...sentimental? Mushy? Soft? I think it's funny how J.T. is kind of becoming a villain, even though he is a hero. I can't decide who I want to win. Who do you want to win?
The Office and 30 Rock: I'm lumping both of these together because 30 Rock follows The Office on Thurs nights. The Office used to be hysterical, but in the last year or so, 30 Rock trumps The Office every time. Liz Lemon likes food like I do - the more the better. Sometimes I wonder if they wrote her character after a caricature of me.
Glee: Starting again in April; my husband and I can't wait for it to start. This is the only other show that we both genuinely enjoy watching together. The Kurt episode with "Single Ladies" is one of the best episodes I have ever seen of any tv show, ever. Love it!
Whew, after typing that up, I'm tired! I guess it's time to go watch some tv...

I'm SOOO glad you love Chuck!!! And seriously, JUST GET TOGETHER ALREADY.
Also, I hate the Olympics for pushing Chuck off the air for this little bit.
I wish I had kept watching Modern Family. I saw the pilot, and it just didn't seem that funny, but everyone keeps talking about it!
Amen to Dinosaur Train and Modern Family! And I totally agree with you about The Office and 30 Rock- My Husband LOVES 30 Rock- LOVES.
Modern Family----Heeeelarious.
The Office + 30 Rock = stomach hurts from laughing!
The Office and LOST, wow I'm a huge addict!!!!!!!!!! And Glee, I just saw the last few episodes and can't wait to follow season two! LOVE IT!
I love Chuck, 30 rock and the Office. Modern Family is the one I can totally relate to, though. Scary. But it's hysterical.
Thanks for the primer--I never have time to watch tv, so I'm glad to have an idea of what these shows are about. That allows me at least nod at the lunch table when everyone is talking about them and pretend I'm in the conversation.
Superman and I are watching Lost for the first time right now -- we're into season 4. It's a great show, but I'll be glad when it's over, too.
And I can't WAIT for Glee to start again!!!
Those are my favorites too. Except NCIS. I just can't get into the crime solving drama shows. And I loved the first seasons of Chuck but couldn't really get into this one. Maybe I'll catch up when they come out on DVD.
And OHMYGOSH! Survivor. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I squealed quite frequently before the season started and it is totally living up to my expectations. I think Cirie and Amanda have an alliance no matter what they say and it needs to be broken up. I think I'm routing for Colby because I still feel he was robbed in Australia, but I have a big soft spot in my heart for Russell as well. And I love Boston Rob SO MUCH (I think I would have cried if he had to go home last week). And JT. Too many of my favorites. I think we need to have a finale party. I don't have any Survivor buddies around and I think James is getting tired of my enthusiasm. Ok, I'll let you get back to your life now!
I agree about the Single Ladies episode on Glee!!! Nothing tops it!!! I even cried a bit at the end when Kurt kicked the field goal!
I need to watch Modern Family because everyone keeps saying how funny it is!!!
Have you tried writing with your pencil underwater yet?
:)
Yeah.. Hi Erin.. I think every week you should talk about survivor, I love that show. I think I missed the first season and maybe the third, but have watched all of them since. And now I got my husband hooked. I like Boston rob.. I also LIke JT.. Its kind of hard to pick a favorite. but I can pick a few I can't stand..
I too like Dinosaur train!
Liz
Actually, I don't know how the CW is. I don't even know WHAT the CW is! Which says a lot about my TV watching habits, I'm afraid.
I haven't seen one of the shows you're raving about. Not one.
I do watch Amazing Race and 24 online, though. Those are my two little shows.
:)
I have a friend who adores Chuck. Maybe I'll have to check that one out. And I tried to watch Glee for a few episodes and it just got way too bizarre for my taste. I did love the singing, though.
We watch way too much TV. But only between 8:00-10:00, and not EVERY night, but most nights. My shows are:
Monday: Castle
Tuesday: Lost
Wednesday: Modern Family (I love the gay couple, I just do)
Thursday: The Office (which we don't really like anymore) and awesome, wonderful 30-Rock - our fave. Oh, and then we go ahead and indulge in The Mentalist, which was better last season, but we still watch.
Friday: Nothing. But we often watch a video or just talk and play games.
I often laugh at how little TV my kids watch. One day they may discover how much their mother LOVES TV, but for now it's a blissful life of them never asking to watch anything, and me indulging myself as I wind down each evening.
I've been watching Life Unexpected as well and I'm definitely liking it.
Have you ever watched Psych. Sounds like it's kinda the same as Chuck. My cousin recently introduced me to it and I'm hooked.
HUGE HUGE Lost fan.
I'm glad I'm not the only one with my night's planned out by what's on (I would go crazy without my DVR!!)
I love The Office, 30 Rock, Glee, and I too squealed at seeing the Hereos vs. Villians previews before the survivor season started. And, my friend saw Modern Family and hated it, and said I should watch it b/c we have complete opposie taste in TV...and it's hilarious!!!
Glad i'm not the only couch potatoe :o)
My son loves Dinosaur train too! He just recently discovered it and is now obsessed.
Oh we so love NCIS as well. We have been watching it from the very beginning. I am wondering the same thing as you When are Ziva and Tony going to kiss!! BUt what would a show be if they didn't keep stringing us along!!
I don't watch NCIS or The Office, but for everything else, I'm right there with you. Plus about a dozen others. I used to feel bad about how much TV we watch but then I realized two truths: TV is something my husband and I do TOGETHER. If the TV is off, I'm blogging and he's working on programming stuff. Second, we do lots of other stuff besides watch TV, so why feel bad?
And Modern Family is my favorite right now.
Chuck is in our DVD rental queue right now and I think I need to add 30 Rock.
Have you ever seen Pushing Daisies? HYTERICAL...but weird. Super weird.
I really want to see Modern Family.....I'm always hearing how funny it is! Not that I need another tv show to watch.
Out of all of those, I've only seen Modern Family. But it's pretty funny. :)
I haven't seen a lot of those but I do LOVE Modern Family and Glee! :) Maybe I should try some of the other ones... I trust your judgement in tv shows :)
